the anime looks really great but Kaneki hairstyle is kinda different compare manga's cover and Rize's voice really doesnt suit her more mature voice should be used judging from her build and design. and i thought Toka's hair is black hair.

Nothing much to say yet, except NICE.

I like violence and gore. The quality is good. The setting and the MC's situation make me really optimistic.

Also, like Kanon above, this reminds of Saya no Uta. And I loved Saya no Uta.

this episode is like the most basic gore in this series

Two chapters into the manga. Adaptation doesn't follow, but it does a pretty good job of setting itself up. That Kazuo guy wasn't so generous.

Amazing first episode, but damn that censorship. What are we gonna see in the next episodes, twenty minutes of black screen?

That aside, I really appreciated the main character struggle through is realization of what has become. Count me in for the ride!

(And I really need to start reading the manga NOW.)

All in all the first episode pretty good. It save from some cuts and the addition of some others (the opening scene particular), it generally followed the first 5 chapters or so well. The art, music and animation was especially good and delivered what was promise in the PV.

Funny enough, the anime made the ghoul scenes more gory than manga did. Still did find as much as big deal some here were making it out to be.

Under more favorable circumstances I would probably just have treated that as a foreshadow towards the later events and it works on that level to an extent. However one other big change that occurred isn't alleviating my suspicions about this being one cour.

Aside from adapting a bit of her dialogue differently, anime left out the mysterious silhouette that was supposed to be next to crane after scaffolding dropped on Rize. It basically removes the foreshadowing that suggested her death not being a accident one might have guess at first and the connection to certain character.

If it turns out to be only 13 ep then, yeah. As many of the arcs will ended up largely compressed.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the foreshadowing in the anime is much stronger, those steel cables are damn hard to break (and we're talking about Japanese quality here!), not to mention dozens of them got severed at the same time and at the same site.
