Oh God the feels. That was superbly done. I missed you embarrassed-tsundere Misaka. The park scene was done especially well. 10/10
Too bad that's probably the end of seeing Touma and Accelerator animated until Index III .

Ah yes, I can see it... Surely that was Touma's crowning moment of awesome. I haven't even seen Index and I can't help but feel this! One does not simply accelerate their fist into accelerators face under a sky of dangerous winds and plasma.
Pretty great end to that arc. The interactions between Makoto and Touma were pretty great to watch, and the battle conclusion was sufficient. Plus, more great sister scenes! Especially that first one, "They're all my sisters!" Swoon.

After all that craziness I can enjoy some episodes of fun. They could be playing cards for the rest of the episodes and it wouldn't make this season any less awesome. Had a good fill of action, drama, and emotional punches. A bit of slice of life won't hurt anything.
This was a nice end to the arc. Just shows how ridiculously stubborn Touma is and how absolutely shaky he was getting up. The showdown of words between Mikoto and Accelerator bought enough time for him to get up. Glad they did have that short conversation so Mikoto could face her feelings and express them. Still feels incredibly guilty for being the reason these experiments could happen, but in the end they are her sisters. Things wrapped up nicely. Mikoto's feelings are easy enough to see and now she can rest a little bit. The nightmare has passed so she can have some fun again.

Why they haven't added Accelerator's quote from Railgun manga "I'll not have to hurt anyone again"? I mean, they didn't continue it. They expected people to guess what he meant? Because when he was going to end his quote "I will not have to..." the scene of dead clones appeared, so this scene meant his ironical thought "...to hurt/kill anyone again"?

And so the arc ends. Indeed, I don't really mind what comes next either, this makes the whole season.
I do wish they had shown what led to Accelerator getting attacked by an army, as they skipped that from the Index anime, even if it's not hard to imagine. IMO, it gives more meaning to the "I won't have to hurt anyone again." ... Anyway, we get some ITEM next (and the cooking scene apparently). I'm looking forward to that. |

I'm a bit mixed about this being the end the arc if I'm honest though, since realistically, the people behind this experiment are still out there. Normally the focus would shift to bringing justice down on them so I very much hope that's where the story goes next for the remainder of the series, even if the episode itself made no obvious indication it would go down that route. At the very least, this is a season that has been about the Sisters so I would have hoped the show would remain consistent to that narrative and have the remainder of the season stick to focusing on them.
And it's probably better if Misaka's friends remain in the background because for me they've been far too detached to this story to be convincingly reintroduced as part of the main cast. Plus I have a fear that their reintroduction will make the story shift into the more light-hearted direction we saw last season, and the content there wasn't much to brag about (besides Saten obviously). It would make the story seemed like it climaxed too early. Well i suppose I'll just have to wait and see how it goes.
