I would love to see anime start a trend with EDs that were sort of an omake version of events.

I'm torn. That outline was kind of hot, but at the same time, the very thought of getting it on with a skinless female, no matter how "hot" she was is kind of...the opposite of kinky.

Yeah, I'm going to give the new OP a Meh rating. It really wasn't all that great. Might just skip it going forward. Had its moments, but at times I wondered what the heck they were thinking with it. Visually it was fine, but not enough to actually watch it week in and week out.

That was certainly quite the gamble played in the court. Could have turned into a complete mess with Mikasa ready to head out and tear Levi's head off. At least it accomplished the goal. Had everyone shaken up and willing to take on the Survey Corps proposal.

Certainly proved the point that even with a great threat people are still morons. Just close up the gates is an idea if they ignore the fact that there is no guarantee another kind of Titan isn't out there that can just knock down the walls themselves. Didn't know about that red monster until he was knocking down their gates after all. Seems like a dumb idea to cross their fingers and hope for the best. Best to just ignore the religious nut entirely.

Curious to see how things go from here. Despite the nonsense from some people there is a real social problem going on within these walls. The focus should be clearing out the Titans, but civil war doesn't seem to be outside the realm of possibility.

I'll probably skip the OP for most of the show, and maybe look at it later on. For now, it is really nice eye-candy, but just not as nice as the first one.

There is no guarantee that it will be skinless like the giant titan, and if it is indeed one of our girls in the squad, I'm sure it will be hot as hell.

You're right, that they have been hinting about this for awhile. I think this episode really focused a lot of the potential political aspect of the show. The military police are shown to be cowards, who hide in the center of the realm to "protect" the king. I guess Jean pre-invasion was an example of who they are. As such, I wonder if they people do not trust the MP. It also showed in the episode that people inside Wall Sina are elitist and chicken, who care about nothing but themselves. They were willing to sacrifice people within Wall Rose for their "survival". They also viewed Eren Titan as a threat to their luxurious well-being. People from Wall Rose, however, see Eren Titan as a savior and a chance at survival.

So if Eren ever wanted to, he could potentially lead the larger population of people from Wall Rose to conquer the people in Wall Sina, even though I don't think that is likely.

However, considering how the author is trying to portray that the people inside of Wall Rose are scum as human beings, there is a very good chance that those people will be sacrificed at some point in the story.

The MP are also the guys suppressing "rebellion". Just putting that out there. So to their detractors, the Recon are suicidal freaks, the Wall Garrison are useless bums, and the MP are actual oppressors.

The OP threw me off. It's way too triumphant for this anime.

definitly way better and well paced than episode 13

sad many viewers left (SnK still have many viewers though) because of horrid pacing and recap episode in they past few episodes

and I like current OP better, the vibe and feel is better than the previous one

not to mention many foreshadowing of future event

With all the weird news going around, it's gonna be even harder for Eren.
This is giving people mixed feelings about his Titan ability.
It's still a mystery if he's originally human or titan.
I'd like them to show us that basement and his dad's research soon.
I understand their fears, but the whole trial thing is a bit much.

Exactly why I loved it.
Didn't expect any less than for the upper echelons of society (or at least the influential people) to try to get rid of someone who destroys the relative stability of their pitiful lives. They'd rather live the rest of their days in "safety" and perpetual fear instead of fighting back.

How great it must be for the soldiers who risk their lives, knowing that they're fighting and dying... for that.

I think it's more of the fact that they use it to imply that Eren is mentally highly unstable and could go berserk at any moment.

The more you listen to the new OP...the more you like it when you watch the FT arc....

There lots of symbolism in the OP....some example:

1) Armin drenched in blood then looking at the one candle burning

2) scenes which showcase Levi team before showing you a strange symbol

3) At the end, you see Mikasa on the left and Armin on the right with Eren in the centre

I`m not gonna spoil this but after this series end at Episode 25, all the strange scenes in the new OP make sense which i find it a masterpieces that is trying to tell the viewer something indirectly.

The new OP is meh. The visuals are fine but the song is atrocious. New ED is good.

Mikasa's facial expressions in this ep were priceless. So much rage. If Armin hasn't stopped her, she would have killed Levi. Or tried to, at least.

I haven’t gave in to temptation yet, even though I’m an avid manga reader. Just want to fully enjoy the anime and the surprises it will give me until it’s over, then I’ll read the manga. It’s not that difficult for me to hold the urge considering I already have a long list of other mangas I follow .

As for the OP, meh, don't like the song, and don't give a damn about what's going on in it. Unlike the first OP, I'll probably skip this new OP in every episode from now on.

Anyway, about the episode itself, it’s nice that the courtroom-drama is not overlong like those Hollywood courtroom-drama movies. I expected the worst (overlong drama) when I found out that this episode will focus on a trial, only to find that it's pretty enjoyable. The episode does what it should do in a rather quick no-nonsense manner.

Really like the Armin scene in the OP though! I was losing faith in SnK adaptation due to the drag of Trost arc but the OP made me hyped about SnK again because of the 2nd arc~

regarding the strange symbols....if you look carefully, its actually represent the 4 guards that is Eren bodyguard. (Petra,Gunter, Erd, and Auruo) and they have a unique teamwork that kept their attack in sync without any form of communication

The new op is flat out horrible. It was difficult to listen to the lyrics and to be honest. I think the op would have been much better if they omit the lyrics to begin with.

I liked this episode SO MUCH. It was really intense, and after it I found myself unable to watch anything else. I love the tension. It strongly reminds me why i loved Code Geass (first season at least). I also liked the trial. It was GOOD. I am a little bit put off by peoples stupidity but since all of them are actually on the verge of panic it doesn't seem that strange.

I LOVED Pixis again in this ep. Oh boy, I really wish we could see him more. The guy's amazing. The blonde commander got to me as well. As Pixis said, there's more to him than meets the eye. His voice is also very nice. I'd trust him in an instant.

On the other hand I wanted to murder Levi. I'm pretty much sharing Mikasa's thoughts and "warm" feelings for him. I hate the guy, I don't know how much of their previous encounter in prison was act (for me, actually nothing of it but I'm terrible judge of character so I may be mistaken) but all he did (yes, I know, he did it to save his butt) angered me a lot... No. I hate him. Although I laughed a little at Eren's reaction when Levi sat beside him. Usually Eren seems so defiant when it comes to authority (at least that's what I unconsciously felt all this time), it was a nice change to see him genuinely scared of someone (not titans).
Mikasa aggravates me mostly but her glares were hilarious in this episode. I was also shocked Armin actually managed to stop her. It is a pity he did... I'd like to see Levi and Mikasa fight. Which reminds me of one thought that struck me again in this episode which I usually forget about. They're still kids. Quite powerless when it comes to power struggles.
