oh, I see what you mean then. I suppose his way of thinking just shows how important Grendan is to him. Very, very significant and precious. I think he's going through the initial shock phase of being rejected by everyone in Grendan except Leerin, which is understandable, especially for someone of his age. What I like about Layfon though, is how he manages to learn from others around him and turn his own attitude around without needing anyone to lecture him (as seen in anime). Yay to reflective-thinking individual!

I hope he does the same in the novel cause up to chapter 5 it just seems like he's sulking a bit. Not that I don't like the novel Layfon, I find the novel one much more understandable and makes clear some choices of action that really wasn't clear with the anime.

ok say for example in ep 2 why Layfon suddenly decided to use his uber powers to own everyone because it was partly due to him being hit on the head too much that he couldn't think properly and mean't during times when he can't think, his natural mode of action is to win. But also because we found out after Layfon got knocked out by Nina when being tested for his strength that he was actually regretting not fighting back and that he actually wanted to win, which subsequently made him roll around on the floor telling himself off for having such thoughts.
The anime Layfon made us seem that he really just lumbers along through life but in the novel it actually showed that Layfon deep down has more of a Nina like personality, where he's actually quite competitive and doesn't like to lose.

Well, there's always going to be loss of information from light novel to animes. Or really any tv/movie adaptation of any book. It's not a big deal. Otherwise the pacing would become real bad.

I've read 6 1/2 volumes. And I haven't caught up with the anime yet. So it's later than that. And I assume quite a while before the translations get there.

Perhaps Layfon will fuse with Goat-chan, who knows... |
