Just feel like if you're going to introduce a character that has conflict with one of the main characters, they need more than five seconds to really show that conflict.

What do you mean by "With this"? Has their part already played out? No. Did you watch the sub? She said he isn't her father. Is that not enough? In the LN, she also said he's not her father. Did anyone react why it wasn't explained immediately? No. There is a time for that.
It's as if you already want the story to leave where it is and do the Akeno arc right now.
