Experience has taught me that "college student" and "smart" are not always words that apply on every front.

Remember Naotsugu's speech an episode or two ago to Touya? That there's simply some things he can't teach, and since Rudy is a caster, this is especially so. There'd be no real reason for him to check on Rudy's status screen either.

Akatsuki is stuck with the role of audience surrogate in this case. Someone needs to be there to say "I don't get it" so the language can be simplified for any viewers who failed to get it when it was first explained. The only person available for the position was Akatsuki, since the other two people in the conversation clearly did understand it, and would have had no reason to explain it all in simpler terms to anyone if she hadn't asked.

Status screen only show when people want to check infomation.Without bring it on, it is hard to tell who is lander who is adventurerer just by look

Going by those numbers it would be currently 2018 when the apocalypse happened. Only 4 years from now my friends. Imma play an MMO again and see if I get sucked in to a game world too

On the whole spoiler thing. For people who've read the LN, why not just make certain posts you can't wait to spoil speculative rather than certain?

Instead of saying "Notice the picture shows character A passing secret documents to character B." Go with a more questioning "What's character A and character B doing together? Could there be something to it?"

This way, you don't spoil anything because you're not making a definitive statement. But you also get to give a hint on a subject some people may not realize.

Come on guys, Log Horizon have followed the Show Don't Tell modus operandi. It rewards those who watches the series with an attentive mind and keen eye. As for Rudy, if the status screen was not enough for you, Minori and Touya's reactions over Rudy should have told you that something is very off with Rudy.

The whole thing with rudy is not a spoiler; just an easy to miss hint that was pointed out to the rest of us. Putting that aside, I do believe that several people are a bit to eager to show off their knowledge of the source material, particulary in previous threads.

Someone notice Minori reacting strangely when she looks at Isuzu and Rudy's name/hp bar, something different either the adventurer/sorcerer thing or the color. After that, any person would have gone back and checked that on the previous episodes too...

MUDs were around in the 80s and were the origin of MMORPGs. That actually makes a lot of sense as it gives us a natural progression of immersion. We start out with text, then 3D graphics and now "virtual" reality. Or you can see it like that is the strongest link to our universe the magic could produce at that time.
