Afaik, that is in fact Yuuki Tatsuya, aka the Meijin. They don't replace Meijin's yearly you know

I loved the Burning scene! The flames looked so bad ass around the gundam. Besides that, I hope they explain the history cause Ramba Ral knew the name and I assume it's not some super limited gundam kit that was produced.

I think its relatively safe to say that outside of possible time travel, Reiji is most likely Sekai's "master".

Never watched the first series, watched first episode of Try.

It was pretty neat.
The 'hero' guy is kind of meh
the female MC is great.
the rival guy is cool.

Well to be fair, G-Reco doesn’t want to rely on nostalgia as it is bringing something new to the UC mythology that we’ve never seen before. While GBF2 brings lots of joy of old (modif) Gundams and other mechas as well as references to past shows. Also, G-Reco is not a poor excuse. The man who created the Gundam was behind it, so I’m sure he has something to say with the series that is still airing now.

It’s never a problem for me as I really enjoy both series. Tbh, this season feels like one-of-a-kind for me since there are two Gundam series that I like a lot airing at the same time. This really is a bliss. Why some Gundam fans (not necessarily in this forum) feel the need to like one and bash the other one is beyond me. They remind me of all the "Marvel-fanboys vs. DC-fanboys" debacles, seriously.

Mirai sure knows how to charm her way out of trouble.
He got sucked into Gunpla world fast enough..
Looks nice, but not my thing.

I notice someone was using the Death Army at team match in the beginning of this ep. The only thing I could mutter is "Why?".

Excellent first episode. I hope there's more chances for the score to slip in more or similar bgm that played during the massive battle at the start, since it's very reminiscent of the tracks from Armored Core 4 For Answer.

The "mai show is better than your show" comments in this thread are absurd. Can we not enjoy two vastly different shows without certain people feeling a constant need to shove their subjective taste in our faces? Sheesh.

Anyways. Solid episode, but not sold on the cast as of now. At the moment, the girl is the only new character that works for me, i'm a bit meh about everyone else. But this is GBF, so it gets lots of time to convince me. Glad to have this show back, even if I'm not as impressed as everyone else seems to be
