The rear view looked female to me. The front view is a bit flat though. Maybe it's a different Alkaid.

Ah, I just couldn't get into //Roots. It was too darn slow. I had the same problem with //sign as well, despite my friend telling me it was good. While the orig .hack was rather straightforward, Kite didn't really feel like he was moving toward a goal, even though he actually was, probably due to the lack of urgency to solving his problem(Orca's coma, helping Aura), but I still liked it. //G.U cuts through all the bs, and puts the story right into the middle of things. I just like that he already had strong motivations to kill Tri-edge and save Shino, which hooked me into his char instantly.

Anyway, I just hope they don't pitty-pat this story like //Twilight did. I'm actually surprised I managed to watch all of that. A comical, stupid Kite is not an enjoyable one =0\.

- I can see the Akashic tower there. Mmm... I hope a Haseo's cameo, since he is my fav .hack// character so far.
- My guess is that BlackRose, Balmung and Kite are girls using those avatars.
- Judging the video the action scenes looks better compared to the previous animes, from my POV the event to be completed is The One Sin event, I wouldn't be suprised if "Balmung" ends getting the "wings" as gif.

Indeed, the guy with the sword is IYOTEN, the PK who pwned Haseo the same day he joined The World R:2. ASTA appears in the trailer too.

Yeah, I found that out. It seems CC wants to toss in a few more promotional title before the real meat. Make sense I guess, because they only have two more main titles left. If they need to milk the series, they have to do it now.

The first OVA .hack//Quantum Walking Party is officially out in Japan today. Anyone know if this is on any groups radar?

The 3 OVA release dates for those interested:

Better than i expected.

So i'm guessing Eri is messed up now especially from the preview. I'm guessing the only way to get her back is taking that guy out

Hope it wasn't cause by Hermit, i was starting to like him even though he's shady. He was looking for that item that Sakuya picked up, maybe its a rare item.

Since they mentioned that the world was feeling realer lately i'm assuming that thing is responsible for it, but what reason i don't know

Well, that's the first time i enjoyed an animation about .Hack

Sign : was all about chating.
Legend : was a little bit childish.
Liminality : was okay but not that into the game.
Roots : I didn't even finish it. I didn't like the characters.

But this ! Sakuya, a.k.a Female Clumsy Kite !! I'm so in love with her !
And the action scenes were really catchy.

I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end !

It was great, but the end was sad...

On that note, one thing I really liked is the subtle way they portrayed the friendship between Asumi and Eri. The tree girls are really close, but Asumi and Eri are childhood friends, and it shows. Like how Eri picks Asumi up every morning, or that Asumi wants to go to college together with Eri, and specially how they're saving each other all the time....

But of course, all that isn't just eye candy, but rather backdrop so we can understand how badly what happened at the end of this first OVA is gonna hit Asumi.

I suppose Eri is the "heroine" to Asumi's "hero". So it kinda makes sense their PCs are based on Kite and Blackrose.



Really looking forward to the next OVA!!

You have to take in account that:

- Sign was the intro for the girst 4 PS2 games: Infection, Mutation, Quarintine and Outbreak.
- Legend of Twilight.... was a WTF! to what they did to the manga .
- Roots was the introduction for the next PS2 games G..U: Rebirth, Reminisce and Redemption.

As you can see those animes are mean to act as publicity to the games (which got good sells).

IMO in Quantum case seems to be the opposite because they used Link to gather the interest of the old fans of the series and getting new ones to this anime saga.
