Uh...what Vicious-san wrote was romanized. What you wrote...it's not romanized, moreso, translated. Romanized Japanese is just the sounds of the kana written out in roman characters, also called Romaji.

On a related note, the name is prolly taken after l'Ollonois (pronounced exactly like Roronoa, just with l's instead of r's), the famous French pirate.... wasn't that once mentioned in one of those "Fan Mail Corners" (whatever it's called in English)? Can't remember.

yeah, his name was taken from Lolonois (Lo-Lo-No-Ah)
he was a famous pirate, right? His name was Zoro, as well. ^^;
