A true mid show about dungeon crawling and leveling up, but also enough comedy to give it levity. I kind of expected the pope to be the big bad, but I guess that's not the case or perhaps just not revealed in this season.
7/10

Actually, the big bad, or Level 50 Dungeon Boss, looked like he was the former pope, so in a sense, the pope was the big bad. The big bad has been the whole healer society, and he has now on a mission to revolutionize it. Also, it seems his next mission is to free dragons. Imagine all the upgrades he will get when he frees each dragon. Although he appears strong, he is very weak compared to a lot of known characters already, so he has a long way to go in this series.

I usually start a season watching 90%+ of what's listed on anichart. With a few dropped every now and then, I still managed to watch this show all the way till the last episode with no more than a week's lag, so it wasn't downright boring for me at the very least. It was a little boring initially during and before the initial training phase, but surprisingly, the constantly recycled substance X antics were not that big of a turnoff whenever it got a new spin, which was what it managed to do. Gotta say I sort of suspected the level 1 limitation, and the dumbness of it being a cheat against undead was mildly entertaining.

Physically perhaps, but he did beat the dungeon to lv50 while the whole squad of super strong girls couldn't get past 30ish. Magic is quite potent, I wonder if he'll learn any other elemental attacks or buffs. IIRC he only sometimes used healing on himself during training but he keeps it mostly physical.

I truly believe that if almost all isekai had the production value of the big titles like Slime, MT, and Re Zero, those 3 would get overshadowed pretty easily. Seija Musou is one of them. After reading 10 vols, not like I don't have issues with the MC (he whines a bit too much for my taste for example), but the way he progresses through his class with hard work, the way he secures allies, the way he develops as a leader later, is altogether more compelling and enjoyable. Also, this author knows how to write a 40 year old man in a 15 year old's body.
