....So pretty much the horse girls mentioned are all the actual horses that Special Week would go against in his history as a racehorse. Except Suzuka I couldn’t find any type of connection to Special Week...though I did learn about the actual horses fate...ouch.

After looking some of this up, this series is probably full of horse-racing references and in-jokes that are going right by me. Take Haru Urara, the pink-haired girl from episode one, who was dead last in the trial race. Apparently the real world Haru Urara is famous for having never won a racem and is actually considered to represent the ideal of someone who has the determination to keep trying even in the face of defeat. There's probably stucc like that all throughout the series that I haven't caught, and won't catch without doing research.

Yeah... horse-racing is not really a great career from the horse's perspective. I expect Suzuka will take a bad fall to cause some late-season drama.

Anime of the season, if not of the year. My Little Pony-chan Can't Be This Fast! needs to be the alternate title. What gets me is how does the world of horse-girls work? Were there actual horses before? If not, how are their cars? Part of the horse-less buggy was the improvement of not having horses on a buggy. Were horse-girls used to pull buggies? How did society survive without a beast of burden to ride??

Horse girls, ship girls, kaiju girls, monster girls. What's next, Japan?

Surprisingly good show.

Also, if you look up the horses in real life, you'll find that the characters do resemble them. For example, the real Special Week did lived on his own without friends, after his mother died from giving birth to him. Raised by another horse as a farm horse, he eventually went on to win tons of races.

The other incredible one is Haru Urara - you can see her as the friendly girl that went to talk to Special Week right away in the classroom, and that she's really slow during the entry race. In real life, Haru Urara lost all the matches he was ever entered in, but became a sensation in Japan when people found out that he was losing all the time. A short documentary about him can be seen here:

ok, we already have monsters girls, weapons girls, can drink girls, robot girls, AI girls, dolls girls, cat/dog/wolf/sheep girls, now japan can't stop to surprise us and we get "horse girls" but being horse is not enough then we get "idols horse girls", yeah japan... yeah i know... you have no barriers when comes to be "weirds" and insane, while i do love creative peoples sometimes i feel which is important have a line between being "creative" being chaotic and being weird and they are not the same

well...whatever...

Sometimes i think which if a alien race come to earth do take over or destroy the world if that alien looks like "moe girls' japan easy could be the first country to be erased because they will offer no resistence and will be more than enough "happy" to be beaten up to death by moe alien girls"

"She." Haru Urara is a mare. That isn't true for all or even most of the horsegirls in the show (Special Week and Shining Suzuka, for instance, are and were stallions), but Haru Urara is a mare. She had a surprisingly long racing history for a mare, probably because she wasn't a winner.

All the horsegirls are probably going to behave in ways that represent their namesakes, and will probably have careers that match, or are at least similar to them, as well. Special Week, for example, actually did win his debut race.

Don't forget, this is technically "ISEKAI" Horse Girls.

I actually like to think of this as Horse Afterlife. Or at least a pitstop where souls of horses get to live an extra life before they go to where ever.

Came across a link to this article which explains the school's motto.

Eclipse first, the rest nowhere: the most famous prediction in horse racing was made on 3 May 1769 at a betting post on Epsom Downs.

Eclipse is probably the most famous and influencial horse in horse racing. He was undefeated throughout his entire career, and he was bred so heavily as a result that it actually affected the equine gene pool. There was a research study done after someone noticed a curious lack of genetic diversity in horses, and it was discovered that a huge majority of horse breeds can actually trace back their ancestry to Eclipse.

Most yes. I can't speak specifically for Secretariat, though it's likely.

....That’s one large gene pool then. Not really surprising though since they want to keep the horses as purebred as possible....
