Never knew blocking a hole with a boulder could be so epic. Well, at least the hole is finally sealed. It was nice to see the other characters in action, and Levi's entrance was awesome.
Is it just me, or were some parts of this episode incomplete? (Like, the part when Annie saved Jean). First time the stills have begun to bug me a little. Anyway, great episode, can't wait for the next arc. |

When she was crying later I thought it was strange. She didn't seem like the type of person to cry over those kinds of things is what I thought.

Well I certainly liked the fact that the story actually seemed to move forward this episode, at the same time I couldn't help but notice the problems with it at the same time. The first five minutes of the episode were taken up by a re-cap and the op which I mean a lot of the other episodes are doing so okay, annoying but let it slide. Then once the show started, I noticed a lot of frame-rate issues with the animation, and I don't think it was my stream either. The slow-motions scenes were choppy, their was at least three or four scenes where they actually didn't even bother coloring in parts of the animation, and their was more stills in this episode then any other up to this point. I know I am complaining about the animation mainly, but I really feel like there was a lot of issues which took away from my enjoyment of the show. If I can notice bad animation on my first watch through and it takes away from the enjoyment of the episode, something is wrong. I am going to hope that after the week break the animation will settle down a little.
Now that I am done with that, the story and music were great in the episode as usual, when Eren sealed the hole the music worked really well with it I thought, overall except for the animation it was a good episode.

This episode was really flawed, I think. A lot of segments were noticeable slower - like there was a lag or they didn't have enough frames so they slowed down the change rate. And then there were parts that seem incompletely and the audio doesn't quite sync with the stills being showed.
Still, despite that... this episode was good. The music was just so very fitting. And when Spoiler for Ep 13 spoiler?:
I hope they come back and re-do scenes for the Blu-Ray/DVD release, though. :c |

An actual episode with action? And content? What is this witchcraft?
Other than the nearly four minute long recap of the last episode, all in all an improvement over the past three or four. Also, anyone notice that face that Marco had? Seemed a bit familiar, eh? Something tells me that wound wasn't from a Titan... |

Kinda mixed feelings about this eps. Being a final eps for the 1st cour, it has the most noticable QUALITY on animation department. Yet strangely they still manage to do some good animation on 3dmg and some other battle scene. The OST is great as always though.

Somehow i feel this episode is kinda incomplete in the beginning with all of those still shots and not showing the action happening.
I hope this gets fixed in the DVD/Bluray version. And finally, humanity has won but at a great cost with some of the characters finding the bodies of their dead comrades with Jean finding Marco's body, Sasha's group found the regurgitated bodies and Annie mourning for someone(I think another user said it was Mina she was mourning for). And now Eren has become a member of the Recon Corps under Captain Levi's command. Next episode is a recap.

Anyway, that was a badass episode I've seen so far. Especially when Eren proceed to seal the gate with the giant boulder, along with the badass theme song in it, made this episode look intense.
Mikasa's captain died. His sacrifice was not in vain for throwing a guy out from a titan's mouth. And Marco died too? By a pursuing titan or something? Oh well... RIP, Marco. It may feel sucks that one of the top guns died too soon. Hopefully his sacrifice wasn't in vain too, for trying to get Jean alive. And for Annie... I was surprised that she expressed her emotion on a dead guy. Spoiler:
Now... Eren got imprisoned was mainly because of him being a titan, a threat to humans. And thus, it's understandable that Eren was held under court-martial because of this. Well, end of Defense of Trost arc. Though I wished they could have finished this arc a little sooner. Anyway, we made it this far, folks. So 10/10 for this one! Great work, Production I.G staffs! I don't get it.
With the Titans focused on Eren who was carrying the boulder the elite squads had a clear line of sight to the Titan's napes. They could easily do what Mikasa and Levi did and just grapple onto them from behind and sliced them. Why did they even got down there to attract their attention? What Mitabi's squad did they could've easily have taken out 2-3 of the Titans right there. To me it seemed unnecessary. And this episode seemed to be a mess. One second Jean is about to be eaten and then we get a still of Annie for like a few seconds and so forth. That or my computer was messed up. |

Also, the episode had serious QUALITY issues that bother me so much (the Titan/Annie moment and the purple bricks were the most noticeable), but that had a great OST, nice action and finally the "Rock arc" is done. That is tense how even after a heavy battle they don't get a rest, worse, they have to pick up they comrades corpses. |
