One thing I did feel was lacking was an explanation for how Shiroe and Naotsugu suddenly ended up being completely re-outfitted. If they'd gotten drops from the previous bosses, why hadn't they been using it in the previous fight? And if not, where did it come from?

My guess is that they swapped gears to resist the elemental attacks from the bosses, now that they had fought them once and knew what to expect. The gears might come from other Silver Sword members who were determined to win it this time and were more than happy to share.

Or secondary stats buffing their speed (such as GCDs, casting timers and so on), since this whole strategy means that healers/support need to keep tanks of two bosses alive, while the rest of the raid needs to kill one of the bosses as quickly as possible.

The gears might come from the previews raid boss drop.

They just didn't equip it yet because its not really needed.

Specially Naotsugu's new armor and shield is design to counter cold resistance and slow the enemy down.

Killed? probably or not really. Turn into slave/whore? many. Before silver sword purge the north. its a slave trading city which is why Shiroe and the others are in hurry when they tried to save Serara.

I love the small details such as the two healers having to run back and forth between the two battle zones to reach each tank in the healing range.

But that's because we know Minori, Henrietta and Marielle in the real world thanks to Shiro knowing them

Lol, it'd be funny if all the girls were actually guys save for Akatsuki because we've seen her outside the game. Can only imagine the look on Naotsugu's face if Marielle was actually a guy.

Rule 30 has no exceptions, if you seen Akatsuki in Real world as girl, it just means she was trap there first.

There's one thing you should remember about Akatsuki.

She was in a Male Avatar at the start of the series. It was when she got that Appearance Changing potion from Shiroe that she turns into the Akatsuki we know now.

And mentioned before, we know that she's Female because of this season's 6th episode.

I'm somewhat dissatisfied with this episode regarding Shiroe and Demikas one to one talk. This is one of the only (up to this point) moments where Demikas has a better moral standpoint than Shiroe.

Spoiler for missed information from novel:

It is described in the light novel that Demikas' seriousness made Shiroe realized that, while Demikas has been facing Shiroe as a person, he on the other hand treated Demikas as a mere object to be disliked at. He made fun of Demikas. He insulted him by purposely calling him the wrong name. Shiroe does not treat Demikas as a person up to that point, where he realized that even though he disliked Demikas, it was no justification to brush him off like he's no better than an insect.

Demikas is a person. If you don't like him, tell him to his face and say it out clearly. Otherwise, Shiroe is no better than the Demikas in the past who had thought everything in Log Horizon to be a game, and treated everyone else to be beneath him.

I feel like this is a REALLY important emotional scene that totally should've been depicted in this Episode. Not only it expresses Demikas' growth as a person, it also points out the flaw in Shiroe's thinking and expresses his growth as well. I don't know what the director's thinking of skimping that part - this is literally one of the most important section in this Arc. If you can dedicate an entire Episode to Silver Sword's guild master, than why not dedicate a few minutes to express the one true conflict between Shiroe and Demikas?

I do have a feeling they'll get back to that in the later episodes, if not then oh well.

For now, I'm more interested in what Shiroe is going to do with that Kunie guy and the last boss. As for those new armor/equipment, those could've come from switching from inventory to loot drops to other members sharing their stuff, didn't one of those other tank say that he doesn't mind nao taking the role of the main tank?

there's this one thing though, apparently only 2 healers are all it takes for a tank to survive a direct hit from a boss, I haven't seen any game that has that mechanic, considering that all things being equal and given unlimited time, a tank could whittle down the HP of the boss while being kept fully healed by 2 healers all the time.

Unless I got the situation wrong of course.

...Even if Tetra was a male outside the game, it won't change the fact that she's female now. Ever increasingly so, given what we learned a few episode ago about how people with cross-gender avatars were slowly changing to match their avatar.

...You know, I actually understood that all of that was going through Shiroe's head and happening between the two of them without anyone having to say or narrate a word in the episode. I thought it worked really well.
