If you have air superiority team (putting a bunch of green planes) then they will hardly be shot down than blue one, thus less repairing cost. Also with air superiority, you can put less blue planes and still manage to deal significant amount of damage.

Some general tips:
- Finish every daily quest available (defeat 1 & 10 fleet, finish 1 map, pvp 3x, expedition 3x and 10x, repair 3x, resupply 15x and any other daily quest you can get). They can fetch you minimal 1000 resource. - Make your fleet sparkling first before going to sortie by heading to PVP first. Sparkle fleet means better accuracy, luck and evasion. - PVP also a better way of training your underlevel ship without fear of being sunk. - Before eating other ship, make sure to get their good equipment off first. - Put the blue planes on the longest aircraft lane in carrier. - Use red weapon on 3 slot BB. Other slot can be allocated to anti air weapon, radar, or recon plane. |

I don't know why so few Japanese game was published in English. I means wouldn't it be cheaper to translate and publish a good game, instead of develop a whole new one? Same server cost, but less effort.
Went so far to set up a fake network , signed up an account and everything. But ended up got the language barriers and the lottery defeated my effort. Don't think there will be a global version anytime soon as well. Felt the same bitterness that i got back in high school, when all good mmorpg game is restricted to NA

Isuzu Kai 2 has the best anti submarine stats in the game. I would definitely keep her if you managed to reach that far with her (mine is lvl45, and she can put up a fight to anything that isn't a BB).
Quote:
1) Translation, no matter how negligible it can be, still cost you a moderate amount of cash, and that's for a niche game. Suffice to say, there is no guarantee there would be enough foreigners appealed by that kind of game (social games in general aren't the norm in the west) AND expecting them to pay a bit for it (not like Kancolle isn't already too generous to begin with... oh wait). 2) the servers are already overloaded as of now. They only expected 2000ish players around april/may and they are already in the 6 digits. Allowing foreigners to get in will transform the situation into a severe chokepoint. A lot of potential japanese admirals are already annoyed that lottery slots are taken by gaijin, to the point DMM had to make a specific statetement about VPN users. As for my own experience with 2-4, spent 2 days in there with a 30-40ish fleet. I used 2BB, 2Torpedo and 2CV and it somehow worked, although crits are just the bane as usual. That said, I think I will just curse my persistence into trying to remodel Hibiki into bep...

I am not sure about the "social games in general aren't the norm in the west" part as if you also played Western social game, you know there are always a top 10% (called "whales") in every game, and who could pay several hundred to a thousand each month. Especially if the game has large population and be competitive. I don't want mention the name as i don't want to advertise it, but a social game i played before (and quit) and paid roughly $20 a month and played day and night (even waked up in middle of the night), but could not even break in top 5000. Considering how the top 1000 or so whales paid much more than me, my guess is it can bring a revenue as high as a server of 15,000 players for FF14..... and with much less developing or server cost. And for record, my friend who worked in developing those social game said the cost to release an expensive one could reach $2-3 million (including advertisement), while Final Fantasy series (not sure about the mmorpg one) costs anywhere from 50-100 millions.

I don't see why you bring the matter they will make a whole new social game despite there isn't anything about that. The vita version is, for all we know, just a port for the vita or a spin off and it is very unlikely it will have an international release either.
The risk stands as the local market is much more profitable than relying on foreigners who aren't investing as much (I really doubt the likes of Imas cinderella girl would make as much profit as in Japan for example) so having foreigners taking slots away from their targeted customers is not a good business decision at all. The very fact there are hardcore gamers in the west doesn't change the point it will not bring as much profit as the intended audience. Furthermore, it also adds additional issues regarding payment with foreign credit cards, which is always more detrimental due to how japanese banks work. It is basically a risky advent for no apparent and certain gain at the end of the tunnel. Not worth it at all.

Well, sometimes it's also down to luck in completing 2-4.
That random compass way sometimes really makes me pissed off especially if she sent me into the north abyss of 2-4... Regarding the localization. The game itself not really on level of international popular. Maybe in the future after the Vita game, merchandise and anime comes out. Kancolle are still appealing to anime fans only, not on general gaming fans. And the second one, this game is released as a part of DMM website. DMM have an adult section which may not sits well with some other country regarding their pornography section. Basically it is still a risky move by Kadokawa to bet on Kancolle, though their bet seems pay off. Now back to grinding Mutsu... |

I tried crafting a Battleship, as well as two carriers. Lucked out, and got Fusou for my Battleship construction, since I needed her anyway for the Fusou+Yamashirou quest, and got Akagi for the Carrier construct... Then I finished the "Destroy Carrier" quest and got another Akagi anyway. OTL
This makes it 3 Standard Carriers, 1 Light Carrier, and 1 Seaplane Tender now though, and the carriers are deal a whole lot of damage, so I guess I'm fine with that. And since I have a stockpile of Bauxite, I don't have to worry about the Akagis eating me out of house and home anytime soon! Then I get Naka for the other Carrier construction. BUT ITS OKAY, as I needed Naka anyway for the Sendai sisters quest (need that third fleet unlock damnit).

That's why i mentioned about why Westerner developers have to make a whole new game, when the cost likely will be much more than the royal bonus and the cost to translate the work. On the Japanese partner, they faces no risk at all (unless their fan base somehow started to move to international version, which i doubt it), likely to make their name on global market, and could make a nice profit on top of whatever they get. Company like Mobage did it, but only on their own game, rather than Japanese exclusive games like Kantai Collection. So it's a real pity Slightly off-topic, but just another rant on another game that I (likely) to miss out again

Goods sales on the other hand, should make a fortune for them. Back on topic - I've finally unlocked that 3rd fleet. What else is good besides the 5 DD 1 CL formation?

Wait till the figure and merchandise gushing out like tap water unlocked... For expedition? Meet the minimum requirement for the quest. I personally recommend quest #3 and #5 as they fetch you the most optimum resource in hourly rate. For bucket, i recommend #2 and #4. Just need 1 CL (preferable Isuzu / KTKM-sama / Ooi / Tenryuu) and 3 DD (preferable Shimakaze / Yukikaze / Hibiki / Yuudachi / 6th fleet destroyer) Dont bother with other DD or CL unless they are your own favourite. |

Expedition 3 seems to be the most profitable exp-wise per hour (90 exp in an hour!), but depending on the ships you use the cost might outrun the gain. I'm barely breaking even using Tatsuta for example, so I'm thinking of using Tenryuu again instead.

^ Don't use any CL for the third expedition. Just stick with 3 DD and it will be fine for the fuel consomption, as long it isn't Shimakaze, since any other DD share the same low fuel requirement.
You also have to factor periods where you aren't present every 20-30 minutes. For such instance, it is best to send your exploration fleets to 9-11-12.
