Wow that hit the fan quickly. Rem's feelings for Subaru were confirmed but in such a heart breaking way. Normally I'd say Subaru is lucky to have someone so devoted to him but there's no way I can say that given how screwed up everything is. Forget about being pushed over the edge and having his mind broken, he's been shoved off the edge, dragged back up, and shoved off again ad infinitum with this.

The introduction of Betelguese as someone other then hooded klansman No. 469718041 from the Witch's Cult puts a face on just how bat shit crazy these people are.

And that ending scene and the ending credits were so spectacularly done. I'm not quite sure what the hell that giant thing that was in the mansion given the "daughter" comment but I think that transition along with the music sealed that as a 10/10 episode for me.

The last couple of episodes may have been kinda meh seeing Subaru sulk, but this restores my faith at how well done this series has been so far.

This show took a turn....a very dark and horrid turn.

If I wasn't a huge lover for Rem before, I certainly am now.

Man that Rem's death scene. Never again.

On another note, I thought Petra's body was in the village and then there she is again in the mansion. Though there seems to be a slight difference in the clothes and her usual shoe for the one in the village.

Nice, you know... I'm wondering, though... what are the odds of Emilia being the true badguy in the end?

Top notch OST and transitions! If the art had been a bit better that would be perfect!
And that acting by Yuusuke!

Man...yet another wild ride this episode. Rem's devotion to Subaru is amazing.

And in that last scene, Subaru's eyes had a nasty glow to them...

Crazy? Nah, he's way beyond that

I can tell who that "giant thing" is based on its voice

Well...now to wait another week to see how Subaru acts this time.

The Witch looks exactly like Emillia. It was mentioned couple of times throughout the series. But her being a villain would be to obvious.

:'(

Spoiler for Episode 15:

There's really gonna be some debate over which girl is best but it looks like Rem is slowly catching up if not overtaking Emilia.

Oh subaru, please redeem yourself and make yourself great again. I've got high hopes for you.

I'm pretty sure that was not mentioned. The 'resemblance' was attributed to 2 things: half-elf plus silver hair.

What was that ending music in episode 15? Did we get that previously in any other episode?

I'll reference them to LN chapters since it is easier.

Ep 15 = vol 5 (2nd half)
Ep 16-17 = vol 6
Ep 18-19 = vol 6 & 7
So that means this arc is three light novel volumes long??

What....

This is not the RE:Zero I signed up for. I signed up for a realistic and smart MC surviving and living in an interesting world while using his time-loop powers to solve his unique predicaments and tricky situations by continuously learning and progressing.

I Did NOT sign up for second coming of Elfen Lied.
This had nothing I liked Re:Zero for(lore, smart MC, interesting mysteries). This had lots of edge, this had lots of gore and this legit mad me uneasy.

Had to go through half the episode pausing and taking breaks because of how revolting and disgusting some of the things in this episode was. Subaru getting his comeuppance might be par the course but not with this amount of torture porn(especially that freezing to death part, NOPE NOPE NOPE NOEJRPAERNE). I STILL feel like vomiting right now.

The villain is ridiculous. Half the time you are not even sure whether to take him seriously or be revolted at what he is doing. Feels very unfitting for the show that had very realistic and normal characters so far.

Rem remains best aspect from the show and the saving grace of this episode. Literally best character in the whole show and possibly one of the only few really likeable and great characters here.

hope we are done with whatever was this episode, because I am not sure I can take anymore of...whatever this was. Hopefully now that we are past the torture porn we can focus on Subaru learning from being an irredeemable selfish egoist and trying to fix this mess.

I think I am gonna go and vomit now. Ughh.

That's my running theory, personally. It would make her character relevant and explain her otherwise very bland personality.
I don't think she is the "badguy", but I am about 85% sure she is the Jealous Witch. Way too many coincidences so far.

Barring all your baseless criticism we've already refuted, you call being frozen to death torture porn? You're into some weird stuff.

That stuff legit made me shake and almost throw up. Well to be honest majority of the episode did.

NOPE

Also no criticism is baseless - you can disagree with it but that give you no right for personal attacks against it.

Two words: Witch Cult
Someone would have to be mad to worship the witch...oh wait, he is mad!

Hope so too...but Subaru's eyes at the end seem to disagree :/

I may be overthinking though...

Actually - no, only their hair and race. Nobody alive have ever seen the Witch.
