I dodn't really mind that part. It was more those few seconds where the girls were staring at her with blushes and talking about...well...you get the idea.

Honestly, the whole 'Miyuki's the most beautiful' thing was kinda what pushed me away from the novels...

This episode was slow and dialogue heavy, with more fleshing out of the newer characters. Even with a lot of dialogue, there are still inferences and hidden meanings between the character interactions. I'm not sure what to make of the episode, as it seems more like an introductory episode.

I really don't know about this episode. They once again pushed forward the idea that there is a criminal organization that is targeting the event, but they haven't explained why. It's like just random bad guys doing random bad things just for the heck of it.

She isn't, so far as I understand it. She cheated, trading on her family name, to be able to stay there at the same time as the competition, but she isn't actually competing.

Consider she later stated that she was forced to come, I imagine that it was all her family organising it.

So Mikihiko wants to be like Tatsuya, not that I blame him, Tatsuya is a badass.

The driver didn't commit suicide. It was a suicide attack. In other words, he was ordered to carry out this attack, most likely by that criminal organization mentioned earlier.

It's something anime can't show due to budget. But Miyuki is a doll. She's "beautiful" in that there is almost not a spec of mistake on her. No blemishes, no veins, no split hairs, etc.

Magicians in general are more beautiful then non magicians as something generic or byproduct of magic produces more perfect representations of humans, so when people say beautiful it's scientific beauty.

It's not a rolls eye thing, it's a symbol of "this is what a magician is" and half the reason for blushes.

If you're sick of this, then you're going down a completely wrong path. There is beauty and there is Beauty.

I know right; this is one of the reason I havent given up on the anime; How I interpret it from the novel is kinda different when other people interpret it~
