The second half of the episode was such a great twist on the usual "main characters go invisible" stories. Todomatsu having no heart somehow isn't surprising
Loved that the "fappy" joke came back for Choromatsu.

Come to think of it, it's only the second episode but also the second time the brothers turn into something physically gross... I wonder if this is going to be a trend? What with their parents being all "our sons must be cute!" in the first episode.

Episode 3
Oh my god, what I wouldn't have given to be there when they recorded this episode. I really think they should film the recording sessions and add them as extras to the releases... The A and C parts were great, but of course the best was the B part. One of my hopes for season 2 was that they'd shake up the interaction patterns among the brothers that have gotten somewhat stale by the end of S1, and so far S2 is delivering, with the Choromatsu & Ichimatsu segment as a prime example. The way they kept trying to find a comfortable distance to interact directly in was awesome, especially with way it got more and more awkward (they ended up being like a would-be couple?!), and the way they started switching between registers and how that kept escalating (I lost it when they started dropping "watashi"s). (And as someone with a lot of friendly acquaintances and relatives that I rarely interact with one-on-one, this episode rang way too true...) As for the A & C parts, I'm getting fairly certain that they're trying to push the envelope to see how much they can get away with and for how long. It's kind of hilarious to see the brothers being hopelessly terrible scum in the actual show, and then see all the unironically cute merchandise and collaboration stuff... ETA: Waitwaitwait, looking closer, Shouei actually played himself? If he was in on it that's even better, although a bit less hilarious. (I guess it ties in to the sentai theme from the first episode...) Last edited by kuromitsu; 2017-10-16 at 17:30. |

I thought the first segment was absolutely hilarious. Cavematsus trying to build the best onahole.
I agree the part with Ichimatsu and Choromatsu ending up alone together and getting all awkward was the best though.

He's an actor/TV personality, he used to play Ginga Blue in Gingaman, so this segment was a riff on that. (The "gangan-gingin" in the next ep preview was also a Gingaman reference.) Apparently after the episode Gingaman ended up trending on Twitter, the power of Matsu is still strong.

Yes, it was really good - I wonder if we'll get a Mom-focused episode one day. In any case this was a pretty hilarious take on the "getting back your pure youthful heart" theme.
Also, weirdly enough I find myself really appreciating that so far (and with the obvious exception of episode 1) S2 seems to be ignoring the brothers' more extreme traits, treating them more as an ensemble cast with what must be the "everyday" group dynamics. I mean sure, everyone has their established personalities and quirks, but for example I don't think we've seen Karamatsu being theatric and painful more than a couple or so times and he's just normally part of the group (although it seems he still loves his '80s JPop references!), Juushimatsu is simply just weird without being extremely so, and so on. By the way, it seems the sleeping order has changed. I wonder if they just changed it to shake things up, or there's something more to it. Last edited by kuromitsu; 2017-10-23 at 17:26. |

So I guess this is how long the relative normality lasted, huh. Another great episode, probably my favorite so far... my favorite skits have to be the cicadas, Totoko, Karamatsu (so this is what happens if you let Nakamura loose... didn't he sing the insert song too? I couldn't hear it well enough to decide) and the nanpa beach, holy cow that was hilariously pathetic all the way through. And of course the ending song! I almost gave up on hearing an Iyami song in this season. Suzumura Kenichi is so good.
(And aww, the couple from the Christmas special. Already expecting a baby!) Last edited by kuromitsu; 2017-10-30 at 17:39. |

Season 1: Pick on Karamatsu
Season 2: Pick on Totty Damn Karamatsu has been treated very well by his brothers this season, no beating up or ignoring. He even got thanked by Ichimatsu of all people for lending sunglasses. What the hell happened? Though it's fairly nice because Karamatsu imo is the most big-hearted guy out of the trashy brothers and he deserves to be treated more nicely.

Yeah, Karamatsu has been doing well so far. Not sure whether that will last. I'd almost feel bad for Totty if not for the fact he's heartless.
That Touch parody at the beginning was pretty funny.
