Good start and reminds me why I was looking forward to this one.
Certainly get the feeling Arata has let his life slip over the years. I can understand some of the problems with the tests. You get grilled on learning exactly what you need to know in order to pass and then basically just toss that information aside. With the amount of years he's been out of highschool and the way he's been living, I can get why he's lost. I think most would have some problems going back and taking last year of highschool courses. Of course I also think many would survive since all it means is putting the time in to re-learn what you need in order to stay caught up. I don't know, had a lot of fun watching Arata be a fool . The amount of time it took him to clue in that having cigarettes at a school was a bad thing was pretty impressive.

I heard a lot of good things about the manga so expectations were high, yet I still thought it was great. The duo formed by the protagonist and his handler is already incredibly effective. I found a lot of scenes amusing. Being able to go back to high school and get a second chance at life is quite a fascinating concept, especially for someone like me in a situation not too dissimilar to that of the protagonist. If the show doesn't forget about that and doesn't turn into another highschool romcom, this has the potential to be excellent.
Was pretty shocked all the episodes are already up. I'll watch them as soon as I can. Kind of sucks though, since that's going to kill discussions.

This is a show with great character chemistry, I'd say. Now, I suppose, I should watch the first twelve episodes, too? I'm not used to getting a new show all at once. It feels like backlog... |

Unusual to see Crunchy do the whole 'box set' thing (which several companies keep referring to as 'box set' despite no box or physical media being involved) and release all in one go, but at least unlike Netflix's acquisitions they've released it at the start rather than at the end.
Agree with Kanon though it's going to kill discussions, maybe the mods should put it in a sub-forum with separate threads for each episode, so those of us who've decided not to binge-watch can discuss the episodes they've watched without getting spoiled on discussions on episodes they've not watched. But to get on the show, somehow (admittedly I'd not really paid attention to previews) I'd got the impression that the guy goes back in time to his last year, but this age-regression thing is a bit different and works better. I liked it. Now to decide whether to watch in rapid order or space it out a bit. |

Wow what a luxury, all episodes available at once! I watched it all because I'm up to date with the manga. Really pleased with the adaptation, Hishiron's deadpan faces were perfect, all the VAs were perfect for their roles.
Spoiler for .:
there'll be another cour right? Right? |

I haven't watched all those episodes and I think we should restrict ourselves to 1 episode at the time.
From what I have seen so far, it is quite a charming Anime. It reminds me a lot of Charlotte. I just hope it doesn't derail into absurdness. I don't usually watch SoL anime, but this one is certainly my cup of tea. It is entertaining and I want to see where it's heading. |

I'm curious to see how his friends or family would react if they saw him. |

I only have a problem with him doing badly in every subject, but I'm not hugely surprised he's doing badly overall. A lot of shit from high school you never use in real life unless you end up working in those fields. Who actually does math manually outside of teaching these days for example? Plus you have all those university level courses where they basically tell you to forget everything you learned on the subject from high school as it's wrong because it's been simplified too much.

Two thumbs up! I did find it a bit of a copout that Chizuru is #001, but it's not as if it wasn't foreshadowed (only other transfer student, and she transferred the year before when we know 001 'failed' last year). I just personally thought that the 'forbidden love' between adult and teenager, on top of adult pretty much living a lie together with teenager, has so much more potential for melodrama. Now that we know Chizuru is in the same boat as Arata, there just isn't the same 'taboo' feeling to it, if you guys get what I mean.
Hopefully it's successful enough that they do a second season. Not because of Chizuru/Arata (which is pretty much set in stone, just need to know how it blossoms and especially in the aftermath of the experiment), but which one of Tama-chan will choose? The aggressive Aki-chan, or the more thoughtful Nobu-chan? Now that Rena and Oga are an item, there needs to be a background romance, and I'm just salivating at the melodrama that may potentially cause a rift between the three. In any case, ReLife lives to my expectations. It's going to very hard to top it as my #1 of this cour.

To be honest with you if you give me some equations and question from a school test today, i don't think i would be able to answer it straight away. It doesn't matter how good you were back at school, if you stop using the tools, you forget how and when to apply them. And the worst thing is, you think you know how to solve exam questions, but you don't. however, you kind of insist you know how to solve them, because you were an ace back at school or got taught it in the pass. Overall good series, but don't expect a pure comedy show. It does get serious in some parts and I applaud them for tackling some of the social issues in this mordern world. |

Well then. Erm. All in one shot, eh? I guess that's one way to do it. Prolly not the greatest surefire recipe for a forum thread's life, but hey ...
