I swear, someone should consider making a figma of those wisps
Did anyone notice Misa was adding lots of sugar to her cup of whatever? During the breakfast conference, she kept adding spoonful after spoonful while commenting about why Akiba's population of 200 thousand was a force to be reckoned with. And the amazing thing is that this doesn't seem to be an act of forgetfulness; she drank, she ahhh-ed and she looked really happy with it And it seems that this is Akiba's "official" emblem:

Number of adventurers may be few, but their power is immense compared to the Landers.
D. D. D. alone would probably be comparable to the Free Cities Eastal (or whatever) combined standing forces. For me, the best part of the episode was Akatsuki being confused during the dinner scene, and then immediately recovering when being given an order to go do some recon. Also, YAY for the Raynesia and Krusty meeting, i sense good things ahead. |

So they invited them to see what the adventurers were planning. Because the combat strength of adventurers aside, they are also a potential threat on an economical, technological, agricultural... pretty much any scale. Fortunately, the party seems to have assured the Lander nobles that they have no intent to absorb even more power, but the nobles still want the Adventurers on their side to share in these advancements. Or at least prevent their enemies getting their hand on them. It's a game of politics more than a question of force. The nobles all want to benefit from the Adventurers and not get left in the dust. |

Can Rudel Haus die already, please?
I know he's amusing, but he's also horribly, horribly annoying. This, of course, is coming from someone who routinely rolls tanks and healers. The 'Move faster, tank, move faster tank, move faster tank, I'll attack first, tank' dps is so, so, damn annoying. Also, yes, let's not get into shipper wars please? The constant 'X is great, Y is sooooo annoying/bad/stupid' comments get, well, annoying.

Yeah, it's too bad the usual tactic of "let him aggro something, die, and then pull" won't work in this setting. Or even better, adding on "laugh while he rage quits the party, pick out one of the billions of other DPS looking for party, continue on."

Aside from his overwhelming (and really very annoying) arrogance, his actual gaming behavior reminds me of someone who's used to playing single-player RPGs rather than MMORPGs. He seems to have the whole "I'm the main character, the party is there to support me while I be the hero" kind of attitude.

Yes Rudie is showing he's a super noob right now but he's just barely made his debut. Lets give him a chance to see how he grows. Cmon you all remember your first MMORPG don't you? I doubt the majority of you were the pictures of competence your first few times. I know I wasn't.

The face he made when he understood that the raid had gone down the shitter was priceless. God help him if it was the Rabbit of Caerbannog.

Like a dream that shattered. Here he was, picturing a heroic fight to the boss of the dungeon, battling it and defeating it for treasure and glory. Only to end up running away from the first group of trash mobs they encounter.

I have to object about Touya turning heels and running with the team as they retreat.
Although I've been out of loop for a year or two, I was a seasoned main tank for our raid team for years. If it's actually an escapable situation, it's OUR job to hold off the enemy as long as possible to buy your teammates precious seconds to run to the instance exit. Our job is to hold ground and DIE, when things turn sour. Grab every aggro possible, pop all your short-medium CDs! (don't pop your long CDs, you may need them after the rez!) I know Naotsugu would have!

Well, you have to remember that there's not exactly a lot of time after death for a rez. If Touya died here while the others ran back to the entrance, he'd respawn back at the cathedral in Akiba. Which is, what, several hours away at least?
