So I gander the animation has improved drastically thru the course of the series...I still can't believe that show has been on since the 60's... I don't know how anyone can come up with 6000 different ideas on a show...Do the characters get older or just stay the same age??

Actually wait.. Doraemon has 2000 episodes? It should only have around 1400 because there is a 10 year gap between when it started and when Sazae-san started. Edit: Confirmed, Doraemon 1973 has 52, Doreamon 1979-2005 has ~1100, Doraemon 2005 has 54. Last edited by bayoab; 2006-08-09 at 20:58. |

Isn't sazae-san not only the longest (in time period, not in episode) running anime, but it's actually the longest running television program of any kind, animated or otherwise, in the entire world?
I think I heard that somewhere...

The show is still running according to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meet_the_Press What's more is that written in the wiki article, 'Meet the Press' 1992 became a 44 minute(1 hour with commercials) show, it originally was a 22 minute show. You can say from 1992 - 2006, 15 years of 'Meet the Press', is actually around 29/30 years worth of tv.
