So...I watched the Extended Edition of the movie:
Overall, it's better than the theatrical cut but not by much. It still has a lot of unnecesary BS in it. To this day, I still have no idea why they decided to focus the story on the threat of prehistoric locusts. Casual audience & fans really don't care about that as well as Maisie's distracting subplot that already annoyed a whole lot of people back in FK. At the end of the day, people wanted to see the full impact of dinosaurs living around the world. Instead of giving people what FK promised them, this movie not only suddenly turned in the other direction (complete with a Bond villain) but also repeating the same "environmental reserve" setting yet again. With all the money this movie made, there's no doubt that Universal will make more Jurassic movies. But at this point, I'm dreading the possibility. The JW trilogy are complete bust when it comes to writing, but the next movies might be even worse.
