Logan (2017 X-Men Film)

Since I'm hearing tons of good things about this movie, I'm very tempted to give it a try, especially since it;s basically billed as a sendoff to Wolverine and professor X. Question though: how much viewing of other X-men films is required so that I don't keep going "why does this happen or that?" every now and then through the movie?

Not much really. It doesn't really tries to reference itself to the past X-Men movies. So i think even first-timers can see the movies without any problem.

Finally watched the movie.
Very beautiful, violent, heartwarming and sad.
A special mention goes to Dafne Keen, X23's actress for playing a cute yet violent and badass little girl.
Great job for a 11-12 year old in her first movie.
I recommend everyone to watch this film if you're an X-Men films fan since this will be the last time Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman will play as Professor X and Wolverine.

Pretty much a western in tone, made me cry manly tears. The R rating really helped as well, with the high amount of gore and bloodshed playing very nicely into the emotional tone of the film.

I'd even recommend it to anyone who enjoys drama/western/road movies in general since it is pretty self contained. And you're absolutely right Dafne Keens performance was amazing. That whole

scene had me nearly in tears and I'm usually not that easy to move.

Fantastic character driven movie that just happens to have superpowered people in it. Don't expect this to be a "superhero" movie though.

It was a good movie. And credit to the X23 actress, she did a great job. Some really good moments for her, though I expected that from the trailers we got.

Spoiler for Story:

Not bad. Personally I'm not as big on killing the main characters (minus Laura), but still a good movie. Plus I get it with this basically being the last time we'll see these incarnations of Wolverine and Xavier.

Although kind of sucks that they die and apparently so did all the other X-Men before this one. So yeah, another timeline they are going to want to not allow happen. Maybe stopping that messed up future will tie into the next X-Men movies.

And hey, apparently Canada is cool with a bunch of kid mutants moving in . Who would have guessed Canada would get ahead in the mutant arms race ?

Really good movie, definitely worth seeing. Certainly one of if not the top X-Men movie. It had some good moments, some emotional scenes, and left a mark. I would have been ok with having Wolverine survive and look out for those kids. I mean someone should have been alive to do so rather than vaguely counting on....someone in Canada to take care of them and not let them be used. But oh well.

Just watch it and it truly was amazing, I'm not a big fan of X-men movie universe because they go and destroy everything playing with time and all that and I never going to forgive what they did in DoFP, this movie (or all the wolverine movies) are the exception, laura was awesome and too see logan and charles for the last time well, you can't help to feel sad.

Not a big fan of the ending, more because I'm always for pinky, rainbow and happy endings, this one was really bittersweet and sad, bit even I have to admit that it was really fitting.

I can now check this movie off my list. Certainly a very good movie, though I was sorta spoiled about the fates of our main characters well beforehand (then again, does saying this was Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart's last time as these roles count as a spoiler?). I'm also guessing that we're down to the last of the mutants because of events in Apocalypse, or what movie needs viewing to see why almost all mutants were wiped out?

One of my bigger complaints is that there were a few points that dragged. The worst was when they have the family scene. I understand that it was to show what having a "normal" family would've been like, but at the same time, I just knew that it was going to lead to a slaughter. Mostly because they broke the biggest rule of when you're on the run- you have to keep moving until you get to your destination, and anyone you meet is likely to end up dead.

And it would've been nice to see Wolverine as a (at least temporary) guardian for these kids... the only problem is that does not fit his character or personality at all. On the positive side though... there really wasn't much gore, but I loved all the blood spilling that Logan and Laura caused. And to use those lines from Shane about being forever branded fit this movie perfectly. But goddamn on Wolverine's death scene with Laura.
