So we've finally arrived. Honestly after seeing what reincarnated as a sword could do, I'm onboard with seeing how this show turns out.
Will be interesting to see how character interactions play out. Plus just how the MC handles that situation. It looks good and nice casting choices. So if nothing else, I'll definitely check it out.

Episode 1
Well, that's an enjoyable first episode. The idea sounds ridiculous and weird on paper but they somehow make it works. I will just say this: Watch this with open-minded. It actually has a nice and relaxing story.

That was ok. Not expecting it to be as much of a winner as being reincarnated as a sword was. But it's ok. Considering the MC is unable to communicate effectively it had a decent feel to it. Lammis having good instincts really helped. Since honestly figuring out what the heck was going on with that vending machine would be difficult for most people. Since it is such an alien concept for that setting.
MC is definitely...unique. I can get having a wide range of hobbies and interests. But I can't wrap my head around being a fanatic for vending machines. They are just overpriced food dispensers. Handy when you are in immediate need, but that's about it. I'm treating his reincarnation as a divine prank. Some deity finding his death so utterly hilarious that they pulled this stunt to see how things would play out. Decent episode.

Not sure how I feel after the first episode but the seiyuu cast is interesting so I'll give it a few more episodes at least. |

I have to assume that will change (the limited vocab). It'll probably be some expensive power up option down the road; the ability to say whatever he wants. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a form changing option eventually.
It is a really silly premise, but I found it amusing enough to watch without fast forwarding. I saw "relocation" mentioned on the available ability list when he was looking for something to deal with the frog people, I'm sure that will probably come up later. Being able to move on your own terms would be handy after all lol. |

The fact they did the Mentos thing doesn't bother me, it's the kind of silly strategy I expect from a show about a sapient vending machine hehe. What does bother me is the implication that one can simply put your thumb on the opening to hold back the gushing of soda after dropping the Mentos. No way you're doing that, lol.

So the Mentos thing is here now. I suppose it does reflect the huge issue within the show. A communication system like this makes things rather devastating in a life or death situation. Not like the machine can speak a whole different language and they just need to figure out how to translate, it's a small selection of phrases.
The show is ok. But the communication issue definitely makes it a bit harder to get into than some other series. I will say it was somewhat amusing the making the girl carry around a vending machine actually improved her combat ability .

There are definitely some nearly magical leaps in intuition with people dealing with him, lol. I read ahead in the novel the other day and there are several scenes I had to shake my head at with how smoothly they figure his intentions out. It'd be more believable if, since they have yes/no, people attempting to communicate with him were to run a list of questions by and narrow it down but a person they meet later intuits things on like the first guess usually. I guess the writer just wants to move the story along heh.
I found the concept to be absurd, but ended up getting hooked into the novel, reading about sixty chapters so far. I gotta give the author credit; he definitely did more with it than I'd have imagined possible Looking forward to seeing it animated. Though I wish the anime they'd have stuck to the manga style. In the manga, they don't over anthropomorphize him. There are more scenes without big eyes added than there are with. Plus when they do give him eyes, they are not big cutesy eyes. They're basic. Looks better that way IMO. But that's a minor nitpick. |

I'm curious what other kinds of vending machines he'll turn into over the course of 12 episodes.
Its not a bad series but its not very good either and Wednesday is kind of loaded with romance series I'd rather be watching. I may or may not stick with it at this point. |

Life was good in that village...and then the MC made everyone addicted to gambling! I'm sure that world had gambling in it (maybe). But not sure what to say about him gloating about his improved sales because he's made some gambling addicts...Also I think it's better for him to say whether or not he's rigging the results of the lottery mechanism .
In the end the episode was solid. Things were looking a little interesting with him trying to combine phrases. Though honestly that's definitely something that'll get lost in translation . But it was a good effort. Show is ok. But it is kind of lacking of punch. Despite Lammis having lots of punch . Somewhat amusing exploring how many different dispensers he can turn into. Though now that we've hit the condom dispenser jokes I'm not sure the show can top that.
