Nothing new, but entertaining how much Satoru is into Iroha. I don't expect too much to happen with that ship throughout the show, but it's nice. There's good and cute chemistry there. Probably a good thing he got the tackle from Komugi. Was way too entranced to stay focused with Iroha in her casual outfit! A pretty considerate guy and good call boosting his value with cooking skills.

Keeping Yuki silent this whole time has been a nice call. Really letting her personality speak through movement and expressions. Though I'm pretty happy with finally seeing her human form and getting a quick bit of dialogue. Definitely leaves an impression!

I kind of like the idea that Yuki has been a Precure for a while and been going around dealing with threats. Probably to keep Mayu out of harms way. Possible that she's mostly just been beating them down though and not necessarily purifying them. Doesn't have that tool to send them back to their realm anyways.

Spoiler for Ep12:

I love how Nyammy is a great contrast to Wonderful and Friendly. Obviously she's taken a physical approach to most of her battles as we've gotten hints to. But I'm sure in this case she was especially savage because she was legit pissed. Try to harm Mayu at your peril! Plus cats can be more keen to hunt anyways so that fits.

Not like there is a guide book for this sort of thing. From her perspective there are extremely dangerous creatures wandering around that could and will hurt people. Obviously that includes Mayu. Should be glad that she was only incapacitating the Garugarus and not just killing them off.

Plus it's a purely better approach. Doesn't matter how much or little you injure the Garugarus. After purifying them they aren't going to carry any of the damage from the fight. If they are going to just hit them with a finisher anyways then bringing them down fast and hard is just more efficient.

Spoiler for Ep13:

Oh my goodness...I fully expected the hunt for Nyammy to be kind of dumb. But I didn't expect it to be this dumb. Satoru is supposed to be the smart one. How did he let this drag on stupidly for so long? Iroha and Komugi aren't casually waltzing around town after transforming into Precure. So why on Earth are they spending all their time on a dramatic hunt under the pretense that Nyammy is? Not to mention they know animals can become Precure. Which means there's simply no chance to find her by randomly walking around.

If they wanted to find Nyammy...they should have just done the most obvious thing. Look for Garus! Which they should be doing anyways!

Mayu's recklessness was also pretty extreme. Obviously she's going to become a Precure herself, but waltzing into dangerous situations isn't a great plan. Especially just because she wants to see a random person she doesn't even know the name of! I'll give her small amounts of slack because she may subconsciously have realized it was Yuki or because she's destined to be a precure she was drawn towards trouble. But still...that's a reckless thing to do.

At least Nyammy was on top of things. Effective rescue and frankly props to her for doing the sensible thing of getting Mayu out of there. Admittedly Satoru probably also keep a further distance away. But maybe that thing was just really sexist and hated girls ? Maybe it was focusing on Nyammy herself after the initial charge. But completely possible it had really decided to kill Mayu so better to get her out of there and let Wonderful and Friendly take over. Although admittedly they had a really hard time of it by themselves. I guess hugs don't quite work when up against a spinning ball of spikes !

Going to be a tough road ahead. I mean hard to make someone be your friend. Honestly might take until Mayu herself becomes a Precure and Yuki has more reasons to seek out team play .

Spoiler for Ep14:

This show has done a really good job on the emotional side of things. I honestly care as much about Komugi/Iroha and Yuki/Mayu as I've cared for a group of Precure over the past several years. The bond between pet and owner is just something beautiful. And they are really tapping into it nicely. Mayu's utter panic at seeing Yuki sick is the kind of thing that simply works. Even if the news was good and quick, it doesn't make it easy to calm down. She did run all the way to that clinic in a total panic after all. And little things like Yuki even in a weakened state giving Mayu the literal push she needs just shows how much she cares.

Yuki's expressions are a true treasure. Whether just mad at Komugi for getting too close to Mayu or...being an idiot and openly talking in front of Mayu. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a long while for her to join the team. Working with Komugi would probably go against all her sensibilities. Honestly she'll probably be even more hostile towards them. Likely considering them a threat that puts Mayu's safety in jeopardy.

Kind of funny that I thought Yuki might let something slip while she was suffering and sick. Didn't think it would be Iroha and Komugi that would screw it up. Well I suppose that should have been a given since Komugi...isn't bright. Though I wish Mayu would stop rushing into danger! I suppose you could say the same for Satoru, but he does tend to know how to keep his distance.

Also it's interesting what kinds of violence are considered appropriate in this series. Beating up enemies with punches is iffy, but inflicting damage through deflecting ultrasonic pulses is apparently ok!

I think there are layers. A lot of this is just my interpretation as well.

Earlier in the episode it was jealousy with Komugi getting a bit too familiar with Mayu. But at the end I think it was downright rage. Komugi (and to an extent Iroha) mishandling their secrets has put Mayu in greater danger (at least from Yuki's point of view). She's clearly been fighting to keep threats away from Mayu, has told her to stay out of it, and now those two have helped draw her even closer to the danger.

Obviously they care about Mayu and will try to look out for her. But at least from Yuki's point of view they are putting the person she cares about most in jeopardy. So I think she's honestly just mad at them. Probably didn't help either that being stuck in that pet cage left her unable to transform and protect Mayu herself. So she was probably worried sick while waiting for her to come back.

Well I suppose it's fine to have a Mey Mey focused episode. Not much to say about it besides it being incredibly fortunate that he was the first monster of the week. He brings quite a bit to that Garden. Did get a bit of a laugh that his ego figured the party was for him .

This definitely had the vibes of "let's kill a bit of time until the plot is ready to move ahead" sort of episode though. I mean sure it was nice to show the insane efforts Mey Mey goes through to maintain that place. Though it makes me wonder why he's the only one that bothers?

Satoru is such an MVP in handling Mey Mey too. Need to get Mayu clearance? Not a problem! Episode could have been about Mayu earning his trust, but honestly Satoru pretty much took care of it. The rest was taken care of by Mey Mey's ego thinking the party was for him.

Seems a safe bet that the Nyammy plot won't advance until or around the time that Mayu becomes a Precure herself. Mayu getting more involved with all this is the last thing Yuki wants. And seems safe to presume she's going to focus on parking herself in the area around fights to protect Mayu, but stay out of them otherwise. The cast honestly seems to have forgotten/decided to stop the hunt for Nyammy also. Thus it's a strange status quo being maintained right now.

No comment on the cameo since I don't know much about that stuff.

But the episode was a good one. They weren't kidding about the mirror stone secrets being revealed! We got a good bit of legend surrounding the stone. Both in how it has that kind of crazy power and why it isn't such a big deal in the present day. There's probably only a bit of power left in it at present (though maybe it will regain its full glory eventually). Enough power at least to get the main cast all setup.

I still really like the direction taken with Yuki. This is how you do it! Her actions are completely consistent with her perspective. What's important to her is protecting Mayu. She's not completely unconcerned with others, but she has her priorities set. Clearly she's changed a bit since she tried to just get the Garu to leave instead of immediately jumping into combat. Maybe in part it was out of concern to the nest of birds in danger. But I think it's partly because she's at least absorbed how Iroha and Komugi are acting. She's not going to chase it down to try and restore it, but she's not going to pick a fight she doesn't have to either.

This is one heck of an open situation with the family. Kind of refreshing in some ways. And a good break for Iroha who sucks at lying and Komugi...who pretty much can't keep a secret. I'm not sure the Precure thing will be kept secret either, but let's pretend Komugi won't blow their cover. Such a relief for Iroha compared to much earlier in the show. Satoru knows about everything, Mayu knows about everything, and her parents know about...almost everything. Her stress levels are seriously down .

And now we can probably get back on the Nyammy character stuff and probably closing in on Mayu becoming a Precure herself.

There is a reason all animals in Niko Garden are fed with Paw fruit they are like Japari Buns in Kemono friends. Without it, they would become more garugaru instead of being niko niko and start killing each other.

Honestly I'd like it if that is the case. That these animals were all gathered because ones that turned violent and hateful over the wishing stone. So they were imprisoned, fed those fruits, and kept purified in that space. Not turning evil because a force is acting on them, but because that's how they naturally turn out back in the regular world.

Some of those animals are either endangered or extinct. Hopefully, they don't have to face a dinosaur-type Garugaru in the future. In the next episode they have to face a tiger and this time Yuki will reveal her identity to Mayu to save her. Most animals hunt for food and they are predators and prey if don't get those Paw fruit they will be hunted down. Those Wonderful Pacts the items that they use to transform are pieces of the Mirror Stone.
