People die when they are killed...

...But when they aren't, they do tend to get better.

That guy likes nonhumans, and maybe has a girlfriend. (Persia the catgirl maid.)

Just watched the last episode and I am glad how they pulled it off.

They resolved everyone else's story + left enough material for next season to be animated.

All in all this show is set along my all time favorite ones, I might even buy BD's - one thing I have done so far only for 2006 Fate anime.

A nice way to end the series. So many of the things I thought were going to happened ended up happening. Pina was named the crown princess. Emperor Molt was rescued, and he made a complete recovery.

What didn't happen was Delilah killing Tyuule. I guess they are saving that for a future episode. Speaking of Delilah, she is already walking after taking in all those bullets, but Yanagida is still in a wheelchair?

Zorzal finally got to see firsthand what was so special and glorious about someone who defeated a fire dragon. Lelei gave him front row seats to how dangerous she can be. He's shaking in his boots over the whole incident.

I think emperor Molt wants a puppet empress in the first place. He chose Zorzal because he believed Zorzal could be manipulated by him. In that same regards, emperor Molt probably believes he can manipulate Pina.

As far as being an empress style similar to modern day Japan, there is that possibility as well.

They're all belong to noble families, so they are expected to be pretty.

Everyone knew that she was manipulated and SDF forgave it for it. Hell, even Yanagids forgave her.

Last episode, and more action scenes, this time with Rory, Tuka, and Lelei joining the part. Nice to see Rory is still getting her "wargasms" and Lelei's studying physics has paid off! Also, Kuwahara gets his moment of badassery when he shows up in the LAV and blows open the gate with a rocket launcher!

And to top it all off, Pina is now the new empress and we have some new pairings! Don't get discouraged though, Kurata, from what I've been spoiled of the novels, eventually he unlocks the Persia waifu route. But who should we ship with Kuribayashi.... I suppose one of the Spec Ops are always an option. I've also heard someone in the internet suggest Diabo... As for Shandy... well, not sure one that...

I wonder how the world will believe these kinds of happenings if written in actual history book and if these kinds of things happened?
Which part of the story people believe, and which part people might doubt?
Of course some foreign military officer went through the GATE and viewed some parts of Special Region like Alnus from previous episode where there was a journalist in it, but that isn't convincing enough to believe the story I guess.

So Itami party really did lessened the casualties the very best they can.

I thought Zorzal brought more than one giant Orc, he barely able to get only one.

"Everyone's beloved SDF..."
"You saved me again green man..."
"Believe in the SDF..."
No matter how contrary they are criticized in reality from the world and because of whichever how the government is right now as of today, for me, all hatred and being all skeptical against them still isn't the answer.
There are definitely still hope for this country and other surrounding countries for all sides with and without touching whatever sensitive history there is.
I believe there are more important things than just protecting their own country and defeating enemies, of course protecting the country is a must.
Even so, Pointing out and judging people's wrongdoing and criticizing harshly aren't the only things and the first things i want to do for our friends and enemies, personally, I don't want to do these things at all anymore.
I don't want to change attitudes and actions to the people that are anything but family, friends, and allies anymore.
But I'm still struggling with that and I want to change that part of myself.

Being a good person doesn't have to be all actions, it can be words, and it can be the heart.
I look forward to the days that people don't doubt too much about the military, the government just because of the backgrounds, and actions.
They are human beings too, it is not like they gave up on being human either.
It is because of the weapons and strengths from the military themselves can be seen as dangerous if they are used in a dangerous way.
And for politicians to use the authorities that might cause many incidents and taking care of incidents incompetently.
Soldiers themselves are not that special and different from the ordinary people in heart.
Of course soldiers mindset can be different because they have rules to follow, but other than that we are all the same, i see sometimes their codes reminds me of some religion.
Government itself is like a religion as well, at least to me, I have lack of understanding what do those people actually believe of.
Stlll, I want to believe there's hope in them, being happy and smiling even though some soldiers they might not seems to me and not believing in them.
Of course stopping their wrongdoings are important, but as much as possible I don't want them to lose their life and happiness even though because it is something unforgivable.

I'll just stop here, since it is going to be longer and I don't really like typing it long.
I might be going overboard, lacking some words, well, these are my point.

RIP: Zorzal, Tyuule, Empire Soldiers, and some other characters I forgot.
I hope they become happy and smile in peace whether they have a next new life or not.
As much as I disagree many of their actions, I still don't want to give up hope from them even though their actions shows otherwise through the very end.

That episode was more about setting up the task of taking down Zorzal than actually taking him down. Guess that will be saved for season 2.

It looks like seeing how powerful the group that brought down the fire dragon knocked Zorzal off his high horse. They definitely destroyed his confidence and have him scared out of his mind.

It looks like a bunch of ships are sailing smoothly. It does seem irresponsible to get one of the knights pregnant during a mission though.

I really don't understand the Prince's motivation in all this.
Time and time again, he sees the JSDF massacre his troops with no ounce of decent resistance, and still thinks he had a chance? Just because he's obsessed with getting power? Really flat for a series where everyone else seems to act rather logical.

Not bad for a finale. I liked seeing Rory, Tuka and Lelei back at Japan and ruining Itami's plans to buy the doujinshis. It was like the first episode but now with an harem xD
Rory and Lelei combo against the Giant Ogre was nice and hopefully Zorzal will finaly learn his lesson and not mess with that group again..lol

Although this adaptation had some great action scenes with nice animation and OST (Battle at Italica, Fire Dragon, Rory in Japan), it also failed to deliver in certain aspects. The censorship was horrible and practically ruined the first episode of this series. The Empire invasion against Japan had everything to be fantastic but it was so damn underwhelming, rushed and censored that i believe it prevented the anime to reach higher adherence when it debuted. It could easily be one of the best, if not the best pilot episode of the season, yet i was not impressed when i first saw it even tho i loved the concept of the culture clash between modern technology in a fantasy medieval world. Because of that, i decided to read the manga and it instantly became one of my favorites titles. Unfortunately the anime had tons of rushed moments, cutted scenes/dialogue and missing character reactions that kinda failed to deliver said culture clash, which was for me, the most interesting theme in the show. Not everything was bad because like i previously said, some action scenes were nice and, for example, Rory's speech at the Japanese Diet was actually better in the anime.

Overall, i'm glad i watched this. Made me aware of the existence of such a badass manga and therefore i'm truly thankful to the studio for that

That was probably what had me most confused. I mean she was there to assassinate Noriko, then she got into a fight with Yanagida and nearly killed him. But...she's free? Though to be fair I was surprised the restaurant that knew she was a spy in the first place suffered no penalties considering what happened.

Would love to know what the story is there. Though suppose I'm also curious how things turned from a fight to the death to presumably pairing these two up .

The Prince is remarkably stupid though maybe he's just lost it to such a degree he can't see any other options. His actions have been so extreme that he knows the only way to maintain any power is to keep fighting. Though he can't possibly win so he should just pack it in.

He probably presumes that the JSDF will want to put Pina on the throne if not take it entirely. And who knows what will happen to him at that point. In the end people can be pretty illogical. Especially if they realize on any level that they have no good options.

Nothing illegal about sending letters home. And they had to know that some or all of the maids recommended by the Formal household would do exactly that.

But trying to murder someone? Yeah, that shit's illegal. Or should be. Who the hell know what they say the laws are in the special region. Apparently, they're "whatever the military says they are".

Just like how Itami forgave those three small creatures in attempted murder because they are also manipulated.
And the manipulator, wherever "she" is right now.

I was actually confused about the process of how Delilah was manipulated into it though.
Noriko and Yanagida somehow might have begged for forgiveness upon Delilah, I think.
The village people from Alnus Hill, they said they knew Delilah was a spy but maybe did not think she is a bad person, so they are partially to blame too I guess.

I have some questions.
Was it necessary for the SDF to blow up the near Empire entrance gate, to stop the Empire soldiers to pursuing Itami party?
I thought the vehicle can lose them just by going faster, or am I missing something?
I know it is my bad for asking this, but I wondered if there are other ways than explosions to just stopping them with minor injuries at that moment?

The Empire soldiers, some do have strong pride after all, Itami wondered why the enemy soldiers are not giving up, but it is not like Zorzal orders to stop the soldiers did not reach them.
Some of them in their minds have thought the fight is already pointless, and some still wanted to resist and worried because if SDF might cause harm their family who are defenseless.

If the base is under Martial Law then yes, pretty much.

Ynagida is a pretty lousy shot. The first half of his magazine didn't hit at all. I don't think they showed where he hit her, but I'm guessing somewhere from the waist down.

Her blade, however, really looked like it went into his kidney....

Most of all(I think), Empire soldiers couldn't just give up because Pina and Molt were taken from them.
I don't know if these soldiers knew they were taken though.
It is really hard to talk to each other, having to talk with the enemies at close distance in the middle of the battle to convince and understand.
I wonder how many centuries will take to have some chances of having proper talk with the enemy at close distance even in wars where battles are happening very close?

You see, Yanagida isnt a lousy shot. He pretty much aimed for Delilah's feet, cause if he aimed at Delilah's chest like all trained with firearms do, he'd risk hitting Noriko at a crossfire.

So, yeah, Yanagida is at disadvantage.

I dont think its a western thing, but in China, Zhuge Liang pretty much rolls around enemy camps and talk with their commanders, sometimes have tea with them

Now that this season is over, I just wanted to state the connections I noticed:

Sugiwara = Phoenix Wright
Sherry = Female Artemis Fowl.
Kurokawa was somehow related to the young girl Yoji helped in the start of Season 1

Please tell me I'm not the only one that thought "What the f... good lord, they hired Phoenix Wright as a JSDF ambassador!", or that Sherry is too absurdly socially-smart for her own good. They'd make a great political duo, let's be honest.

I'm not sure what the whole thing about that little girl in the start of Season 1 was supposed to be about, but I don't think it's any coincidence that they look SO MUCH THE SAME. If anyone has read the Manga and could spoil any little bit about that girl, please PM me because it's driving me nuts.

Otherwise, loved the show so much! The fight with the Flame Dragon had me laughing like a maniac out of sheer joy for the whole episode. Look forward to more great work from this studio!

O wow look at all those ships sailing, i never see so many ships in 1 go

I know bozes and tomita liking each other but, already pregnant? That was fast. Lol at kengun will past the language barrier, yanagida got a bunny girl for wife, and sherry.... Lol

if there will be season 3, i hope they have somewhat decent opponent to fight against. As much i like watching technology gap in battle (1 sided battle), it can get boring if they keep doing that.

Anyone who has read the novel, can someone spoil me what "big event" they going to encounter next?
