Dang, I thought it was a normal anime, but in the first few minutes, the "Level" thing and the "I have a bad skill" thing showed up (two big red flags), so I checked the original source and it was Narou after all
Man, if you are a Narou, make sure your title is absolutely stupid so we won't waste a few minutes checking you out
Dropped of course

Eh, actually so far pretty okay. Gets two more episodes to see if it drops into edge territory or becomes interesting enough to keep watching. It has the potential for both.

Oh...I forgot that I read this 5-6 years ago. The syosetu story link is deleted ,but I still saved the link to it. This story came out back when stealing abilities was a popular trend. I don't remember how this story went at all, but it's hard for a character to steal abilities and for the story to remain interesting because the main character tends to become too powerful.

I guess I'll keep watching it for now. I didn't write down why I stopped reading the web novel but at least I did read 83 chapters. I must have liked it to some extent to keep going that far. I didn't rate it so I have no idea how much I really liked it. Of course I was less picky about web novels back then...

This is another 5-6+ years old web novel hmm? They sure wait a long time before adapting some web novels. Just when you think they're gone for good, they come back to haunt you again as an anime.

It isn't long gone as the manga version is still ongoing with the latest volume just came out this year.

Yeah, a bit generic. But at least picked up a bit once the talking sword got into the mix. Though I have no idea if it's a useful weapon besides being the MC's coach. At least it lets him learn about his own skill a bit.

Roxy is cute. No complaints about a good natured blonde holy knight .

The author migrated the webnovel to Kakuyomu; they are still writing it there.
https://kakuyomu.jp/works/16816927861013454270

Latest LN came out in Oct 2022, but I think we'll have to wait for a while until there's enough material for a Vol 9.
https://gcnovels.jp/book/1429

Meanwhile you get webnovels that deserved to have hung around longer, but couldn't simply because the domestic readership sales didn't meet the targets.
Like what happened with WN series Deathbound Duke's Daughter.

It's pretty rough in this world where kids end up abandoned just for having less than impressive skills, but I guess that's just how it is when the Goddess Laplace isn't around to protect everyone no matter the level of their skill. I guess if you believe the myths .

Thank goodness Fate was there to save Sahara and had Greed to slice through that bandits sword. I'd hate to see what else the Vleric family has done to the kids they've trafficked, it's probably not pretty .

That was a really sweet moment between Fate and Sahara, and he was able to impart the wisdom of his father to keep a smile and happy face going no matter how tough things get .

I like Roxy, but I'm not sure if she has the political power to effect the Vleric's much, they seem dismissive enough of her as is .

Fate is really moving up in the world! Nicer clothes, new digs at a mansion, a good job with good food, and even getting to see Roxy out of uniform and in a dress! She even mutually compliments his own clothes and introduces him to her father...or at least his grave, seeing as how he died fighting a Divine Dragon. And all that time she was watching over Fate she was probably still grieving from losing him. In fact they both lost their fathers to monsters .

I don't think Roxy has tea or gives cute nicknames to all of her servants, Fay, though too bad passing out over his hunger kind of ruined the mood .

So on the one hand the Gluttony Skill is actually pretty useful...but only when you kill living souls and take their abilities away from them, otherwise Fate is stuck with an insatiable appetite that can only be quenched with killing. And it might get worse the stronger he gets !

Good thing he's becoming quite adept at slaying monsters though, and he even manages to win his first Boss Battle against a King Goblin! That Health Regen will definitely come in handy .

So Greed can transform into a different form when he reaches a certain level and Fate gives him all his stat points? These two really are in a mutual take and give back relationship, though losing all those stats might be worth it for a strong range weapon like Greed's new magical bow form .

while his skill is indeed OP, it's a good thing that there is a side effect with it and he can die of hunger if he doesn't kill for souls.

but it would've been interesting that to satisfy his hunger he needed to kill humans, or who knows maybe in the future the monsters won't be enough and the only way will be by killing humans.

Yeah, I feel like this is going to extend to him killing more people. That might be why he starts wearing a mask.

He is slow when his new employee greets him with a beautiful dress. She reiterates that they going to make come up for her family together. She also tells him that he is her family now.

Once he is settled down. He is forced to level up. He has to get stronger soon or later. Those holy knights will not sit idle for long.

If this were a slower season, I might keep up with this. However, with the slight amount of edgyness (You gotta keep killing to survive! And ever more killing or you'll go crazy!), this tilts for me into drop territory, because I already have, like, eight or nine shows to follow this season which are simply better.

I'm in a similar boat its an interesting series but I'm not sure its really interesting enough to keep up with. Might pick it back up if I drop something else... I read a bit ahead in the manga... and its definitely as edgy as you'd expect.

Actually feeling the same. In addition, I was not feeling tutorial sword this episode; something about it rubs me the wrong way. Maybe its the convenience of knowing everything Fate needs to know instead of Fate having to figure it out himself that makes it sort of off-putting. If considering solely based on the concept of MC killing monsters on their own, think I'll prob drop this and stick with SLF as that has much more appeal for me. I'll give it one more episode to see if something intrigues me; else it'll be a drop.

In some ways I kind of feel for the MC. Seems like his path isn't one that can possibly end well. If he's lucky then just staying on top of regular monster slaying will be ok. But if it constantly creates a greater desire for more powerful souls he'll basically have to travel around like a combat junkie looking for a fix. And honestly in the best case scenario this only lasts so long as he can keep fighting at his best. Get sick, old, or something else and it's a messy end.

Kind of agree that the tutorial sword is a mixed bag. I like the voice acting and personality. But Fate basically doesn't have to think too hard or learn much since he'll just be informed. I feel like his own skill should inform Fate how it works more than a sword should be.

At least Fate is still making some decisions for himself. Chose to save that girl and try to help out that orphanage. And certainly fell for Roxy all on his own.

It's just a bit of a mixed bag. Will see if I keep up with it. I feel like this season is unnaturally packed. Going to be tough until I whittle down the shows I'm watching to a more manageable level.

Working at Roxy's mansion is quite convenient for catching Roxy herself in casual clothes and in pigtails...ready to slip into town on an inspection. Even dressed like a commoner, she's still a stunner! And lucky Fate gets roped into being her escort. But now it's practically a date !

I love Greed third-wheeling the date and Fate having to cover for talking to him. And Greed being charmed by Roxy because she treats him right as a blade. Heck, Greed even ends up playing wingman for Fate! Pretty good for a gluttonous sword, huh ?

Man, the people in town really are terrified of the other Holy Knights, huh? Well, when one makes a fuss over a guy's stomachache grumbling in his presence, I don't blame them. But it was a perfect excuse for Fate and Roxy to pretend to be a couple (nice one Greed) and get out of trouble by...flirting! It was really cute. I also love how what really convinced people that "Lexie" wasn't Roxy was that nobody thinks Roxy could actually cook .

Dang, Fate's been gone so long the barkeep straight up thought he was dead. And now he's bringing in a girlfriend! Nice. I also love how they mutually break their coups over the awkwardness of being seen as a couple .

Fate is gaining a reputation, but instead of being a wandering warrior, he's being claimed to be a new monster roaming around and that the Holy Knights (including Roxy) will have to deal with. Not often a dude gets mistaken for a lich .

I was wondering how strong Roxy is but I didn't expect she could shove a dude harassing her into the wall with a light touch. Or beat him in an arm wrestle. Guess Holy Knights are built different. But deep down Roxy is the ideal of a Holy Knight, truly kind, selfless, and humble. Also I love how her "reveal" scene was just undoing her braided hair, as if that was the biggest way to throw people off of her identity .

The Vleric's are still trash. I don't think I want to know what they wanted to do with that kid, but Fate is strong enough now to stop Hado's grip. And they'll probably come into conflict again soon .

Fate is head-over-heels in love with Roxy and I don't blame him. She's so beautiful. And I think the feeling is definitely mutual the way she is around him and how happy she is that they'd both be in trouble together for going out .

Was that Holy Knight who took care of Fate as a kid Roxy's mom? They look identical minus the shorter hair. I don't think Roxy is that much older than Fate .

Now Fate has his mask to help him hunt monsters incognito, all the while the Holy Knights are plotting...but at least Fate was able to get Roxy the jewel which I'm assuming will go into the necklace she wears in the ED. Poor Greed ain't getting that whetsone !

Kind of interesting tone shift from uncontrollable gluttony to lazy afternoon date. No matter how edgy the protagonist his virginity must be protected at all costs!!

Series isn't great but its kinda entertaining, and I like Roxy more than I expected; I'll probably stick with it unless I get bored of it

Same here. Y'know, some things just straight bother me, because you would think it is common sense, yet, a character continues to do it. And by this, I mean talking to the sword out loud. Once, sure, its bound to happen, but multiple times in a row? That got old in an instant; I couldn't' stand it!

Then there are other little things; Roxy simply undoing the braids making people see her for who she is, as if that alone with pheasant garbs allowed her to camouflage herself among the populace. Why would Fate even need a special illusion mask if its so easy to look different? Then, there's the holy knight going completely out of the way to find the stomach grumbler(Fate) in the crowd, and lets the woman "disrespect" him only to just let them walk away without a word. Then the crowd was supposed to bow their heads as he walked by, but after that confrontation, guess they didn't give a s*** . Seems like bad writing to me. Then, their "lovey-dovey" behavior; it is just too infantile for me; that, coupled with Greed's commentary... just not doing it for me.

I'll lean on dropping this, but i'll see how I feel next week, and whether or not I feel like watching it. Trying REAL hard to get to a part where he actually has to kill someone relevant, but seems doubtful i'll make it that far =0\...
