It's not particularly dark, but not particularly lighthearted either.
For example, there's a god that raises the dead as undead in this story and is generally regarded as an evil.
However, the god doing this is because they simply don't like that people die with regrets left.
It's an "evil" act with the best of intentions.

Though this same god is also our protagonist's stalker...

Honestly, I can't grasp what they mean when they say "romance" anymore. Do they mean good romance like Horimiya or something or do they mean narou's usual romance where a bunch of girls start trying to jump on mc dick cuz he so op.

First arc is being raised in the city of the dead, leading into battling with the God of Undead's Echo. Echo being an avatar of themself they send down to the mortal realm.

The second is seeing the outside world for the first time, getting to meet his first friend, a tsundere half-elf archer man, and leading into a battle with a chimera.

Third arc is about managing territory leading into a battle with a deadly ancient dragon awoken from the age of the gods.

Fourth arc is still going. The threat still hasn't quite been explained yet, but the wind god and his worshiper are apparently trying to prevent an evil of some sort in the capital.

When was the last time that we see a Japanese novel that has a MC written really as a paladin, not just some JRPG job class that is only paladin by name.

He actually holds a clerigical office and is in rank of bishops. He actually weild his sword in the name of his faith. He actually is preserving his chastity in loyalty to his goddess.

You know, this is kinda the most important thing in this novel and you didn't mention any of these in your summary!?

what is this about Territory Management? Did he take over the villages and become lord of the area?

^Yeah. The area when he immediately left town was basically a lawless woodlands of scattered villages.
So he basically Paladin'd all their problems and became their leader.

the problem is that it's assumed. There aren't exactly a lot of japanese stories about ACTUAL paladins. If you want to communicate something, you have to consider likely assumptions. As for my thoughts on it, I don't believe many people would come here if it was clear he was celibate from the get go. That is the place Animesuki is...

I've only read two chapters. I'm just saying why they're bringing it up. So, please clarify that he is a clerical paladin and not a game one as well as changing the "maybe" on sex to a clear yes or no. It would be easier and you'd probably get less people asking about "romance". Or just say romance without sex....or whatever is happening in the story.
