This and SAO might be the only anime I watch this summer.

What odd character designs (short hair, droopey eyes), but I find them appealing. YAY for josei~

An old noitaminA habit kicks back in (I think the last time it happened was for [C]?) - the non-credit OP has already been uploaded to the official website: http://natsuyuki.tv/11movie/index.html

Decided to watch this one because I was bored, but I actually ended up enjoying it a lot.

I really liked the banter between Hazuki and the dead husband.

Just watched the first episode and I like it. The plot and the art is unique. I also notice its only 11 episodes, so this show is going to straight to the point (no fillers).

This anime is written like every NTR h-manga EVER.

interesting setting. Watched it not knowing even the synopsis.

Very nice realistic acting voice work and monologues. Reminds me of an older Honey&Clover.

Reminds me of a housewife jdorama.
dead husband hanging around old wife even though he told her to move on, on his deathbed.

Hmm. Just finished watching ep 1....

I thought it was charming and endearing, but also elegant in a quiet way that is both more "mature" and less ... hmm ... what is the word ... maybe "overflowing with energy" than Sakamichi no Apollon was - at least for me. It's a different kind of series to be sure, but quite good. I liked it, and quite a lot.

Up to the writing of this post I would say it is the fave of all the series I have seen. We'll see if it stays that way throughout the summer 2012 season....

An interesting start to the series. It is definitely not your norm you see in anime nowadays. So far, this is the second series that feels like it is breaking normal conventions in a good way.

However, I wonder how this NTRish style will affect a lot of the anime viewer base. Usually, it is not too well received, but so far, for me at least, it brings about an interesting prospective in its different setting.

Ultimately, you do expect that a series like this will have Rokka move on and Hazuki at least start a romance. However, how annoying, disturbing, and tiring will it be to realize that a ghost is watching your every move with his former wife 24/7? Maybe the ghost will be able to move on once Rokka fulfills her promise of moving on?

I was smitten with Rokka from the start, so I will undoubtedly watch this series through to the end, regardless of whether or not it keeps me glued to the tube like this first episode did. I might even go ahead and read the manga.

Like others, I hesitated after ready the brief synopsis. After being disappointed with that other ghost story anime that just ended, I wasn't sure I wanted to get suckered into another one right off the bat. And, indeed, there is one element that this anime has in common with the other one that annoyed me to no end (the invisibility factor), that I might have to grit my teeth while watching future episodes. But there are already various differences in the "ghost theory" that this mangaka has applied (no touchie, floating about, passing through walls) that perhaps it won't be as annoying.

There was also that very sudden time skip that made me go, "Huh? What?" like another anime that just ended. I don't know why they bothered. I guess, like that other anime, it was to show that months go by and nothing romantic (or at all) happens between the leads.

But, the one thing that kept bugging me while watching this episode was that I vaguely thought I had seen something with a very similar premise before. I had, this movie, for which the following quote would make a pretty good synopsis:

Nice, fast start to the show -- without looking at the manga, I'd guess they got through three chapters in this episode. Hopefully with the series being less than half as long as Sakamichi Apollon in won't run into the same compression issues.

I'd say it's the third after Jinrui and Utakoi. Fourth if you count Polar Bear Cafe, too. Almost makes up for the fact that there are two series about a gender-flipped Oda Nobunaga this season.

Looks real promising, and not the usual stuff that is so common nowadays. This may perhaps be one of those underrated series of the season. Only time will tell.

After Tsagore no Amnesia. Nope. No Comparison. Natsuyuki is clearly superior.

Though for some reason, I wonder whether this is the afterstory of a typical High School Rom com plot that ended with the male lead dying.

(Tries picturing this as a High School Rom com. Takes Brain Bleach and dunks entire head into a pail full of it.)

Well, the backstory of this tale could have been a Clannad like scenario, only now, the male lead is the sickly one. I get the vibes that I'm watching a sequel to some other untold successful teenage romance that ended in a tragedy.

Well, life is a successions of sequels, from a certain perspective.
