Different issue but I can't seem to display the subs for episode 3 (.mkv) with MPC and CCCP. I have this issue as well with GG's CG picture book 3.75. Problem is solved if I use VLC but the subs look fugly. Any idea what is going on?

Get this tool, go tools -> test render, tools -> media info and tools -> CRC check on the problematic file, then file -> save log and copy/paste that final log here, and i'll have a look at it to see what's wrong.

I got an unsupported stream error when doing the test render thing. CRC check gave me 8AE3E353. Media info is as follows:

Nvm, I figured it out. Setting MPC to VMR 7/9 renderless solves the problem.

Nyoro~n, love the work you guys do, and you guys sure do it fast too!

However, when I tried to play episode 4, the whole episode was skippy and segmented in Windows Media Player, and just on plain fast forward in Media Player classic. I use the Combined Community Codec Pack. Is anyone else facing the same problems?

Here's the story on why our standard quality is messed up:
I asked my partner Shami-nyan to encode episode 4 so I could make an mkv. she heard "Encode as mkv." when I got the encoded file it played fine, but I didn't notice it was already mkv. When I threw it in mkvmerge, it re encoded the mkv as mkv and screwed it up. We'll be releasing a version 2 soon.

And it screwed up...? I'd like to hear a bit more about that, since myself I've seen mkvtoolnix screw up only once, and the file still played fine. That shouldn't really make any difference whether it was muxed in MKV or MP4 or left as a raw stream or whatever else after encoding. You're just changing containers as far as I'm concerned...

mkvmerge never "reencodes" anything. Remuxing is lossless and non-destructive, you can remux MKV's to MKV's as many times as you like and it'll still work. mkvmerge will read the settings from the input MKV and use them as defaults for the new MKV, too.

mkvmerge _can't_ re-encode anything, it can only re-mux. Wonder where it screwed up, as it should be able to handle it's own format no problem and actually never broke for me.

Version 1 of the standard quality release for episode 4 had an internal bug, not your fault. and though I regret having to say it, you're probably better off deleting it and downloading either our high quality release or version 2 of the standard quality, I apologise for our mistake.

Could you not just remux it with mkvtoolnix? Wouldn't that solve the problem, without having to re-download the episode...

However, when I tried to play episode 4, the whole episode was skippy and segmented in Windows Media Player, and just on plain fast forward in Media Player classic. I use the Combined Community Codec Pack. Is anyone else facing the same problems?

Lolfang Member Fansubber Join Date: Apr 2007 Age: 37	Here's the story on why our standard quality is messed up: I asked my partner Shami-nyan to encode episode 4 so I could make an mkv. she heard "Encode as mkv." when I got the encoded file it played fine, but I didn't notice it was already mkv. When I threw it in mkvmerge, it re encoded the mkv as mkv and screwed it up. We'll be releasing a version 2 soon.
