IMO this comes as no surprise. While countries in the baltic know little putin would love to crush them under his thumb, countries in the CIS know they are next in line if the invasion of Ukraine is successful, because they know no other country is going to give them a lifeline if putin starts to turn their cities into ruble and vladimir's delusion of grandeur, of rebuilding the USSR, knows no limits.

You know, my home city (Kharkiv) was one of the most russified in Ukraine. But after all the shit happened we hate Russia now. They could call us nazis as much as they want, we all know who are the real nazis here.

My close family was outside of the country when the war started (they were on vacation). I am currently outside of the country also, yes. Hope to settle tomorrow and continue working. There are more than enough people fighting now, so someone should support them.

To anybody who's dealt a bit with the history of Nazi Germany or Fascist Italy the rhetoric coming out of Putin and other Russian leaders in recent days and weeks is eerily familiar.

And it's sort of a tragic and bitter irony that it's predominantly the areas and cities where Russian is the first language like Kharkiv or Mariupol that are getting leveled by the Russians.

My bet is that we are starting to see the start of the pushback, kilometer by kilometer the invading forces will lose control of the terrain. This in turn will generate the fall of the Russian federation, as those links generously provided by AnimeFan188 show, rats are already fleeing from the sinking ship. Unlike the fall of the USSR, I doubt putin will relinquish power and like dictators in cuba or north korea, will rule until death claims him (maybe he will live past a hundred years), causing misery to millions of russians.

If putin makes lukashenko enter the war, he will not survive and belarus sooner rather than later join "the west". With the russian army shown as a paper tiger, I would not rule out georgia taking back the territory putin made into "independent republics". IMO the real battle will be in crimea, no doubt many young russians will now prefer to be part of Ukraine (and "the west") than be part of a hermit country like putin's russia.

If what you are thinking is something like attacking on another front, I don't see it hapening. Most countries are very careful about supporting Ukraine so outright agression seem much less likely.
