Yeah, well I peer at Aizen dragging Rukia around by a collar... and Rukia doesn't seem so bad ass anymore. Can you call someone who's being treated like a bitch, in both senses of the word -- bad ass? Perceptual mind tricks work, as much as they shouldn't. Same applies to your last example. Team up against Aizen, honorary suicide*. Team up against mindless drones, kick ass. I don't dispute that they both are FACT awesome.

What a bad example you are giving here-first of all, Aizen is MAN, you can't compare how kickass Rukia is and how kickass Aizen is.
Second of all, you are not being fair because Rukia had no REIATSU back then unlike Orihime who has always had some through the time she was in Tower.
Even without reiatsu, Rukia still had the strenght to fight in Karakura and was brave enough to face Hollows and stuff even only with Kido and no Shinigami powers.
Also, if Rukia goes against Aizen, she may not be able to beat him up or win the battle, but she'll have the resolve to fight, she'll have the usual look of determination on her face AND that would make her badass at least to a degree.
(Actually, when I'm around my friends which are all girls, I'd look less feminie )

Rukia killing him was far from plotkai, it showed how Aaro si stupid and retarted but most of all, it was for Rukia's character developement and to show who she is.

Ok, then how about how she got slaped down twice by Grimjaw in seconds flat?

And she was so effective there that she had to be saved by a powerless Chad. Realy, prepowered Chad was more effective vs hollows then she was at the time and that was the only fight she was not playing the old mentor or Ichigo's cheerleader from the side lines and she was directly involved with . The first fight that caused her to lose her powers also shows something of a lack of bad assness although the resualts were mainly Ichigo's fault but she was distracted durring it way to easily to be called a bad ass. Realy I can only think of 3 truely bad ass Rukia moments, D-roy's death, freezeing Grim (well maybe, as that lasted like half a page before he smacked her down) and the death of the sand hollow and all of those were basicly sneak atacks. She handled her self fairly well in the fight with #9 but she was far from being a bad ass there as she was never realy close to winning.

And that makes her no diffrent from anyone else on the main cast. In fact I think she might be pretty much behind on bad ass moments then everyone else in the main cast, barring Renji but then he gets no respect. Chad has between 5 and 7, Orihime has about 5 that do not include her godlike healing, Ishida has pretty much 1 every time he shows up, and Ichigo tends to have at least 1 every fight.

I voted for Tatsuki, something about strong tom boyish girls, though If I wanted a girlfriend she would have to be either like Orihime (delicate, soft natured and caring) or like Yorouichi (intelligent, good humoured and very understanding).
