Yep, this is the price for helping the Marleyans to stop Eren. And Armin, Connie & Mikasa are the ones who paid this episode.

It would be hilarious if Annie comes out of this whole ordeal mostly unscathed. That way, she'll become one of the most rewarded named prominent antagonists in this story despite all the things she has done and still being smug about it.

I have to admit the logic and motivation has gone to crap lately. Connie is horrible. Mikasa is horrible. Hans is horrible.

Seriously... I'm going to kill my friends, my family, and comrades all in order to help the enemy commit genocide against my people. Best of all, my goal is kill my dear friend who is trying to save us and our people. Because all else, I have the high moral ground because I say so.

It was heart wrenching to see Mikasa enthusiastically murder her friends and comrades in order to help the enemy. All they want to do is protect their home, family and people. Mikasa and friends are enthusiastically murdering them. With the end goal of saving those who want to commit genocide against Paradis.

I could really care less about this rag tag group anymore because they left their brains and moral compass out the window a few episodes back. They have zero redeeming qualities right now.

“Enthusiastic” is absolutely the wrong word to use. They are NOT happy about what they’re doing.

You’re also being too critical of the team. Genocide is wrong. Which may sound more than a little weird coming from me as I’m Team Eren in the end (ultimately the world brought this on themselves for blaming people alive today so viciously for things other people did so many years ago), but you can’t blame the team for not wanting millions upon millions of people dead.

It’s either Team Eren or Team World; after considering all the facts in this sucky situation, I choose Team Eren because the Eldians are being blamed and hated for things that they never did and aren’t their fault as opposed to Team World, who today wrongly want to wipe out the Eldians, and they should have the mental capacity to figure out that the men, women, and children alive on the island today had nothing to do with the old Eldians’ crimes. But I don’t have anything against Mikasa, Armin, and the others for not wanting to wipe out the millions and millions of people on Team World (who, among little babies, I’m sure there are still a good number who aren’t on the “Hate Eldians” bandwagon) either.

The animation is really a huge improvement over the first part. Mikasa going on a mass killing spree was amazing to watch.

Not really. First of all, sure you can say that, but witihin the story context genocide has been presented as the only solution. It will always end in one. As for the second point, why should they care? They know the truth. If you have them act illogical and inconsistent then at least give them an understable reason for doing so. It couldn't have been worse than what we have got here.

I feel no sympathy for all those Jaegerists that were slaughtered by the main cast. They all talk as if it wasn't them the first who took arms against their comrades, they didn't give it a second thought about turning into to titans national heroes like Pixis the whole of Levi's squad and several of the higher ups of their own army, and then they immediately decided to kill those who escaped that fate, Levi and Hange among all. If it wasn't for them and all of their efforts, the Jaegirists wouldn't even know about the outside world and would be still living in ignorance.

And they now act as if it's Armin and Mikasa the traitors. They are the traitors. They betrayed their country, they betrayed their comrades and they betrayed those from outside that decided to help them.

There is no hard evidence of that. The fact that there are nations like the Azumabito that willingly decided to side with the Eldians proves that it is possible to form alliances with at least some of them.

Besides if it was really that certain I don't think Zackly would have opposed the mass genocide plan, that man was anything but a moralist, and therefore there would have never been a need to assassinate him.

Even though I wanted to say something else, I will restrain from that and ask nicely since I'm not sure if you are one of those snowflakes. Have you watched the anime or read the manga? Depending on if you are an anime-only, I could excuse this kind of ignorance since 123 will be adapted into the finale, but if not then maybe you should inform yourself again. As for the Azumabito, since you should have seen or read (or both) the content S4 P1, you should definitely know why they are there to begin with. Spoiler: It's not to help them.

I'm also glad when I saw Female Titan who was such a threat in second half of S1 being rather fragile when fighting the ODM-euipped soldiers. We've come a long way. After everything that she has done, it feels good to see Annie received some beatings (but not nearly enough IMO).

Just because it’s the only way things can/will turn out doesn’t mean it’s right. We all know that there are plenty of people out there about to be trampled by Eren who don’t deserve to die, even if the number of Eldian haters far outweigh them.

They care because they know what I said above; that there are many good people out there in the world still. They aren’t being illogical or inconsistent at all, not illogical because of the above reason and not inconsistent because they always hated getting innocent bystanders caught up in the fight, including their attack on Liberio, and this goes far beyond civilians getting killed in an attack on a city.

I'm talking about the situation before Eren decided to ruin any attempt at diplomacy by first essentially declaring war against the whole world with an attack on a place that had dignitaries and ambassadors from over the world, and then, obviously, by starting the rumbling.

Before that Eldians had plans on how to slowly mend the situation with the rest of the world, and they had several points of leverage that they could use, starting from the fact that their main enemy is Marley and that Marley conveniently was hated by several nations.

Since that plan was completely destroyed by Eren's independent actions, we can't really know for sure if that was bound to fail.

As for the Azumabito, it doesn't matter if they aren't helping the Eldians out of goodwill, who is even expecting that? They obviously have their own interests, but that doesn't change the fact that if they really wished for the Eldians to be exterminated they certainly wouldn't have had anything to do with them. And if Marley had managed to invade and destroy Paradis, that would have been pretty bad for the Azumabito, because then it would have become pretty clear that they offered them their technology which was instrumental in the attack against Liberio.

The bottom line is, the Azumabito need Paradis to exist for their own sake.

It seems people have forgotten that Mikasa HAVE called Eren out on the killing of innocent people. If anything, those survivors of the 104th have drawn the line here, and Eren crossed it. Even Annie have made sure to not kill any of her comrades of the 104th, other than Marco where the circumstances pushed them to do it.

Retrospective

My second-to-last review before the reviews for episode 87th start to roll out.

I'm more than impressed and satisfied with the increasing quality that MAPPA has delivered for the final season, part two.

I'm fulfilled they took their time to flesh out the members of the unlikely alliance between the defunct Survey Corps and Marley's Warrior Unit.

Mikasa, Jean, Reiner, Pieck, Connie, Annie, Gabi, and Armin were able to shine and deliver in both narrative and the action aspects.

And, my hats off to salute out of respect to both Theo Magath & Keith Shadis for literally going out with a fiery blaze for what they have to sacrifice in order to ensure the Alliance reaches Odiha safely to service the flying boat.

Each of their respective journeys weren't easy but marked with turmoils, desesperation, tough choices, and chasing out their respective demons. However, if both finally came to realize how much important the people under their charge were to wish them long and bountiful lives and offering their own lives in exchange to deliver a last sliver of safety so for their pupils to reach the next destination, then both men earned their place in Valhalla.

It was a smart decision for MAPPA narrative wise to start rolling the ending credits right after both men's sacrifice in order to accentuate Gabi and Falco's grieving over another loss and making poignant to the audience through Annie's despair that it's likely too late for Libero and the rest of Marley.
Once hitting rock bottom one just wants to throw in the towel and wishing to be out of the hell just as Annie tearfully pleaded with Mikasa not desiring anymore to fight and killing each other.

I don't watch this anime anymore, but I did get a laugh at the fact The Final Season isn't Final and there is a Final Final season after this one
Maybe there will be a Final Final Final season too

Guess we should have seen this coming when they decided to call the season after season 3 "season 3 part 2" instead of the more logical season 4.
