Will definitely check it out when the translation lands. But I'm also not surprised. This journey through the past is going to be full of pain unfortunately. Hopefully Illya can reach something that will help though.

Ok, so mostly just saw the end of the original Darius. Though maybe that's not quite the right way to put it. At least can see how his obsession spiraled towards madness. I suppose the next one will cover how his spirit began to possess his descendants and creating the mess that we saw. Certainly he started out with good intentions. And I can get how he would rage against Pandora having to see another person die in front of her while continuing through the ages alone. Just...clearly things didn't quite go well as a result. I suppose that's how it goes when you rage against the natural course of existence and keep going on after death.

It's nice to see these events unfolding. Although I'm not sure what Illya is going to gain from all this. Sure it is nice to know that Darius used to be a good guy, but he's not that anymore.

Spoiler for Chapter 65.2:

With basically the full story of Darius told I'll be curious to see where the next chapter goes. I can't imagine there is much point in looking around the past. Though might be interesting to go really far into Pandora's past. But I don't think that'll be the focus. Guess the key will be what Illya has found along the way. That and if she can return to an earlier point in the timeline. Since coming back where she left in that nightmare scenario can't leave her many options.

That was a really good chapter. If only they were released more often.

No doubt what the original Darius gave Illya will be the key to stopping the current corrupted Darius. I think this is it for past exploration, Illya will now be sent to before shit went down.

What does it take to beat a haxoring Darius who cheat codes his way through all fights? A friendly Darius who cheats for you. Figures the only way to beat Darius is using Darius lol.

She'll be fine. The chapter made sure to point out that Gil is observing her, so she doesn't have to worry about not being able to come back.

Yeah, no doubt that this isn't going to be the end of Illya. Value just is that she thinks it could be while doing it.

I'm more curious about the results for other characters after she does this. Characters outside of the main character aren't necessarily guaranteed to be ok.

I wasn't expecting the story to return to the present either. The world still looks fucked, but I guess Pandora recounting her story about meeting fairies (Illya) to Darius is going to ultimately change the latter's mind somehow.

It was nice to see Archer Miyu, never happened for obvious reasons.

I was wondering how they were going to make all of this really matter as more than a flashback device for Darius. And certainly it has been a good flashback device for Darius. But I kind of like that Illya herself was basically the faerie that Darius was noticing and he was able to pass 'something' on to her. Though I'm not sure how useful that will be or what it will even do. I suppose it is just a solid look at good intentions going bad. In trying to stretch beyond human limits Darius steadily began to lose himself. At the start losing the burns that were a very vivid reminder as to his promise to Pandora and why he was struggling so hard. And with the amount of times he has broken beyond the limits of a human lifespan he's turned into a monster. Guess we'll see where things go from here. At least before the last chapter. That the journey mostly is pointless. Illya isn't able to physically travel to the past and change things. Just send her consciousness back and witness events. It's a good study guide, but the horrible realities around her remain. Whatever Darius put in that box will have to be epic indeed to overcome...everyone besides Illya, Gil, and Tanaka being dead. Although I can't see this ending that dark. Not with the focus being on Illya still wanting to save and befriend Pandora. Heck, I think it's more likely for this trip to end with Pandora moving to Illya's dimension to go to school with everyone than...apocalyptic death for all. Of course may just be my selfish hope for Kuro and company to come back from all this somehow. Guess we're not quite done this trip yet though. I was actually hoping this would send Illya far enough into the past to witness things for a truly young Pandora. Maybe finding a way to send a message of hope before heading back to the present. __________________ Anime-Evo

In a sense nothing really happened besides just confirming that she was doing this. But it is fair to take a moment and have Illya make her resolve. Risking everything to go all the way back and deliver that box to Pandora. I think it is doing as much as it can with handling Illya here. Without a doubt she's the type of protagonist that doesn't want to sacrifice and will keep trying to greedily grab the happiest ending. Choosing to acknowledge all those lives as precious. And that includes those that at present are lost like Kuro and probably Miyu, Rin, Luvia, Shirou, etc. She is going for it. Guess we'll see how this all plays out. Also welcome to hell Gil! It seemed like everyone was just plain old dead originally after the attack by the Giant. But instead everyone who still exists is mostly ok. Illya more obviously erased from existence. But as a natural consequence so is Kuro. Although Archer Miyu is a lovely sight to see. Still isn't quite the same. Guess we'll see how things play out from here. Tough to deal with Illya's disappearance when no one has a concrete memory of her. Just a powerful feeling of something being very wrong. Of course Illya will come back somehow. Still not sure if it will be just her or not. Maybe she could come back as her strongest form unified with Kuro, deal with the situation, and then split again? Maybe not. Regardless it was a surprise to not just follow Illya's visit to the ancient past with Pandora and instead jump back to the present and seeing how things changed. __________________ Anime-Evo
