Hello as well here(Pretty new guy, joined to participate in novel discussions :3, though I tend to aswell go inactive >_<, but well got incredible interested in reading novels the last two months.).


Also long reply short: Kind of planning on doing summaries, even though the I am type that stops after a while/goes inactive.




Been really interested in reading various novels(It all started from Tate no Yuusha, which led to Moonlight sculptor and other novels that started a light novel reading spree that has lasted for nearly 2 months, and will prolly continue some more.)

So... with my great greed of wanting to continue reading the various series, I went ahead and read the jap raws(Knows hiragana & katekana, basic grammar, and assisted with Jparser).
And being the person that actually likes to get spoiled with summaries/spoilers, and knowing the frustation of waiting for a translation, I've decided to actually try out writing some summaries my self(whether this is gonna last or not is questionable... atleast I may be able to provide something? and others can continue from where I stop?).



Anyways I have actually started to try and summarize the first chapter of the webnovel(http://ncode.syosetu.com/n4402bd/1/). And are about done with 1/3(I should probably write something like this after I'm done with some more I guess...).

The way I'm summarizing...
Well right now it's actually very near an actual translation as I take parts of the text and write the generel meaning of it(my interpretation).
And... well.. I kinda fear that it may result in people not wanting to translate the webnovel(seeing as there is a very rough "translation", though it is written quite badly as english isn't my first language and something I'm good at....).

So... should I continue this way?
Or cut more of it off so it becomes shorter and more like an actual summary?

　とはいえシステムの開発費が非常に掛かるために、ネット商店や観光地という分野から発展していった技術に よって、最初のDMMORPGが生まれるまでに15年の歳月が流れることとなるのだが。

Summarized
The “Full body experience” is achieved by a personal console, which shuts down the 5 senses and instead creates a virtual reality world.
This system was created in 2079.
At first made for the medical and military fields, and far too expensive for the average person, but 10 years later it was simplified to the point where the average household could possess it.
Though the development cost for games were incredibly high and the first DMMORPG was first created 15 years later.


Btw I've attempted to actually shorten some of it, which I did some of it.. but I wrote on again and they became more "precise/detailed" again.
The example here is actually something that I shortened....

I have the Japanese Rae's for vol 4 and 5, but I don't have vol 3 yet.

Sry to say it, but as I wrote before I am currently working on the Webnovel, not the light novel... So it's not really possible for us to work together :/

And well... as I wrote before it can rather be seen as a rough translation than a actual summary of the chapter. And after having worked on it(It has taken me a couple of hours yesterday), I can say for sure that I will probably not continue like this, as I'm like to get tired with doing it.
Instead after this first chapter I will begin to summarize the different webnovel chapter.

I believe ya wrote that there existed more than 6000 spells, but that momonga is able to use 700 * 18? which is 12600 spells... And the regular lvl 100 player could only use 300...
Is this really what's written in the ln O_O?

Oh and also.. does undead usually have 100% fire resistance?
Isn't fire usually somewhat effective against undeads in most games and the likes??

There are 6000 spells divided into different systems/classes and Momonga knows 700 spells from 18 systems/classes.
He is vunerable against holy magic. Think it this way, since he has no meat on him, he won't feel pain from burn

Well it wouldn't make sense if it was 700 * 18... Though the webnovel is quite different, from what I can gather there THE max nr. of spells any1 can learn is 300 at lvl 100.

Did figure that he was weak against holy magic(the wn also had that), though it's just that I've experienced that many games does make undead somewhat vulnerable to atleast fire magic as well....

Ps. wn and ln does have quite the amount of differences(a lot only small, but still) already in the first few chapters.

Yes I think the max spell number might be 300. But I think the items and equipments available to him like scrolls and wands add the other 400 spells for him. There was no explaination in the LN why he had so much more, so it is only my guess

I thought one of them (ln or wn) said that he got up to the 700+ spells by PKing people? I could have misunderstood though.

But Momonga has absolute flame resistance because of his Undead status, so that there is no impact on him at all.

Also I'm pretty sure this part is off. Undead are weak to flames, right? I think his flame resistance is a skill or stat or something that protects him despite him being an undead.

His guild is a PvP/PK Guild. Thats why he worried if other players got transported to the same world as him won't cooperate because of his bad reputation.
I suppose its because he is a Lich (highest level of Undead) so he got some special skill to resist flame? but still weak to holy. I remember later its mentioned he also got resist to physical damage level 60 skills or less.

The adaptation would be the light novel version, also i think there is a translation mistake, the chinese version said he takes double damage from fire instead of being resistant to it.
