Does that really matter right now? We're finally witnessing a long overdue battle! Anyways, what I particularly liked about this chapter is that it rekindled that old Jojo vibe that I always felt from this series. Only thing that would have made this chapter perfect is if Hisoka popped a boner mid-fight, lol. |

So... Why did Chrollo need to steal Shalnark's ability? It's not that uncommon, and does he need a people controlling ability at all? Sure doesn't look it.
Heck, why did he need to delay the fight? Why not just pay up and give Hisoka the fight he was promised? Didn't he have all he needed before Kurapika sealed him? |

Oh wow. Never in a thousand years did I see this one coming.
And it appears that one of them will not be leaving the ring. This feels kinda like that sudden intermission during the ant arc where we suddenly got a mini arc with the phantom troupe. |

This chapter really came out of the blue. While I liked it, its unexpected and a bit weird for me. It doesn't have a proper build up and it just follow up the last chapter about the princes. I hope there where a chapter or two before the battle. It would intense the hype more.

...So Chrollo was running away for this reason huh. Though I love two of these characters, I would also favour Hisoka in winning (surviving) if I were to pick one. And HxH isnt a manga which would hesitate to kill off a recurring character. |

I'm on the fence. On one hand, I want Hisoka to win. Because more than anyone, Hisoka has the right to be a continuous presence throughout the story.
At the same time, the death of Hisoka would probably be the biggest dent in the ever changing status quo (yes, I know that's an oxymoron) to date. |

Chrollo is like Gilgamesh from the Fate franchise
there is no end to his legion of fans who will say "He will win if he takes this seriously. he has a counter to every problem in his collection. It didn't count when he lost to XYZ" And they're right partially, he does. But what's also right is that like Gilgamesh, he has a character flaw that makes him what he is and I don't think he can separate himself from that. For Gilgamesh it's pride. For Chrollo it's greed. He is, at his heart, a thief. He will always try to steal things. I mean.. that's how nen works people.. It's the embodiment of your ego.

The bookmark ability makes Chrollo a lot more dangerous than he already was. I like both Chrollo and Hisoka, but there truly has to be only one survivor to this battle, then I want Hisoka to win.

Maybe the judgement chain was never dispelled and simply passed to Shalnark. And as he can't use his abilities, it was arrange for Chrollo to have it. |
