Yuri teasing is common for most of the series with the all-girl cast. So I was not excepting something more explicite. It is not so much ther kiss itself (it is just on the cheek) after all as Kanos reaction after doing it.

If I had to craft a theory from this I'd say that Kano started having feeling for one of the other members of Sunflower Dolls (My gut is telling me Mero) and got mixed signals. Kano probably tried her luck only to realize things weren't what she thought. Things could've gotten heated and devolved into a physical altercation. Or worse Knao tried to keep her preferences a secret only for a person she trusted to either emotionally manipulate her before betraying her. However that second part might be little too dark for this show.

About half way through and I think the following problems is why the anime isn't popular like Yorimoi

1. The topic is too modern. Traveling and going to Antartica? Cool. VTubers, high school drop outs, idols, illustrators? I can go outside to find these things. Why should I watch a convenient version of reality?
On top of that, the focus is split between each one, so there is no specialization in the topic.

2. There is no real tension and catharsis. The reason for their breakthrough is that her sister conveniently talked, that they conveniently didn't realize their mistake, and that people conveniently found this mistake super funny. How am I supposed to react to this? Outside of... 'Kay...

3. The visuals are pretty, but the presentation is lacking. Even the whole "ED is changing each episode as their video making techniques get better" loses its impact after it becomes clear what they are doing

4. Please, please do not follow-up on this lesbian sub-plot. Please focus on the creation story. Yorimoi didn't need yuri bait

5. The VA of the singer of the group has the worst singing skills

I'll watch both (assuming you mean Shuumatsu Train). And no, I can only stomach so much fugly CG in one season. I'm full with Highspeed (bad) and Rinkai (meh). Yes, it is by the same guy and I hear it isn't bad, as expected, but I'm not gonna watch it since its CG.

It's true that it certainly is no Yorimoi, what an insult to it, but I can still use it to compare how a "Girls working towards a dream" is done good vs bad
Of course, as an original anime, I do wish it somehow gets better from here and becomes incredible, but we have like 7 episodes left and fear we are gonna spend most of them like episode 5, one girl at a time, and then rounding up the thing with a 3-episode arc on something like "Hey, you kids shouldn't feel bad if you are a freelancing singer or artist or highschool dropout" message

I most definitely did not have on my bingo card the street performance idol from episode 1 coming back for a heartwarming mother's day episode. Killer triangle solo too. This show is full of surprises.

At least they did not forget about last episode teasing, but put it away for now. "Baba-idol" was fun and her daughter was cute, plus it gave the JELEE an opportunity to write the song for someone else and perform live again. Let's see where it will go now.

It doesn't seem like Mahiru has taken the kiss seriously, but Kano's reaction when she brought it up was pretty telling. I'm confident it will eventually go somewhere.

I knew Miiko was a hag, but 31... and divorced with a kid?! Her relationship with her daughter was very wholesome, and of course heavily contrasted with Kano's. Looks like she finally got her big break by being honest about who she really is. Not getting to hear the song JELEE wrote for her was disappointing.

Cute enough episode. I figured that idol would be back sooner or later. Though also didn't think she'd be a single mom trying to make ends meet either . Makes her sort of battle with a couple of kids in episode 1 a bit more hilarious.

Good for her though. In the end went pretty open about things. And good for Ariel too. She's a good kid and glad to see her standing up for her mom. Brats will be brats unfortunately...but good on her for standing up and for her mom for showing up to help.

Wait, what? So the kids were talking to each other all the way until the sun started setting? All five of them stuck around to listen to each other?
At first, I thought this was some attempt at "kids these days", but them spending what needs to be at least an hour and probably more (considering it went from clear daylight to sunset) repeating the same "Look at your mom" "Stop!"... is special stuff. Pretty sure this could all have been settled and her getting her phone back and getting to the concert could have been done if they didn't decide to spend half a day standing around
Also seriously wasting the batteries of the phone since they had the screen on the entire time

This newest episode was fantastic. I loved that we got unusual pairings, namely Kano with Kiwi and Mahiru with Mei. This allowed us to learn more about each of them, and them to learn more about each other. Kano may have followed Kiwi because she thought that if a fellow drop-out like her had a clear vision of her future, perhaps she could figure something out as well. It didn't work out as she had hoped. Kiwi, on the other hand, may have gotten herself a potential onee-san girlfriend with fake boobs (important information: Kano is a C-cup and Kiwi a G-cup by Kano's estimation). Koharu will definitely show up again, since they set up a mystery with that scar on her back.

Mahiru and Mai were team going to university, with both of them bonding over the fact they reconciled with their passion thanks to Kano.

Kano was still lost at the end, but Mahiru told her exactly what Kano told her in episode one: if she doesn't have a reason to sing, then she will be that reason. And that's more than enough!

I love this show.

You know, before I was sure that Kano is aware of having a crush on Mahiru and Mahiru is not and just teasing her. Now I think that it is Mahiru who is actually sure about her feelings while Kano is not sure yet. But we'll see, high chance everything will end with just teasing (because the general audience do not like actual GL unless ther show is markerted as one from the get go).

Koharu is interesting. I really hope her interest in Kiwi is not some devious plot by Kanos mom but we'll see.

Honestly the show does a nice job with the journey of these girls. They are moving along in their lives and figuring quite a bit out along the way.

It's not a dull ride . And honestly I feel like they all are getting a decent amount of attention here. Little things even like Mei on her own time figuring out how much she cares about piano when she finished second at school just once. It wasn't some major episode that was centered on this. She just had that experienced, processed things, and it's part of who she is.

Even have things like Kiwi really figuring herself out. I like that the crappy experience with a teacher actually spurred her to want to be one. Obviously in a lot of cases it'd make someone never want to see another teacher in their life. But while she's got a good head on her shoulders and is looking to the future...it's easier said than done.

Yoru is pushing ahead. It's still not easy and she's still not comfortable telling her "friends" that's what she is doing. But she's at least chasing it. Kano...is a bit lost. I'm sure on some level just getting her music out there, getting popular online, and the 100k followers thing was a bit of payback to her former idol group and her mom. But where does she want to go? I get it. It's scary to look ahead into the distance. But...is she really ok being like this forever?

I'm genuinely surprised they addressed someone having plastic surgery done to their face (and especially their chest) and that it's illegal to ride double so Kano ends up getting pulled over and ticketed. Literally right after she got her license .

Facial plastic surgery isn't uncommon, but it's usually done to change your identity in anime, not for cosmetic reason. Breast implants are pretty damn rare.
