Kinda reminds me to Masamune Date from Sengoku Basara but less detailed but I never played the games. Wonder if at least Alucard will appear based on my knowledge of the DS games.

The women kicking butt in the trailer are all the women who Richter was supposed to save in Rondo of Blood, but it looks like they've gotten the Sypha treatment of being absurdly powerful so... good luck to whatever vamp tries to get them. Though it seems like they're potentially tying in the story of Castlevania Bloodlines given Elizabeth Bathory is the main antagonist.

Makes sense given that Dracula isn't dead and needs to be resurrected after how the last season ended, plus he wouldn't be looking for a wife.

So apparently Netflix dropped the first three episodes on a live stream or something. I only caught the tail end of it, but it dealt with Annette's backstory, covering her enslavement, discovering her powers, and how she heard about the vampire messiah and went to deal with her in France.

We also learn that Opera guy apparently gets killed (and then turned into a Night Creature), the abbey is forging Night Creatures with a Forge Mater for the vampire messiah that Olrox was investigating, and I think he was flirting with the paladin. They're apparently using the Night Creatures to back the Church against the Revolution.

Episodes are out. Felt short but it was good for the most part. The pseudo-romances felt horribly rushed for a lot of them though.

The only romance I thought was horrible was Olrox and the Knight. I mean, the Knight was clearly a good guy who didn't like what the Abbott was doing and firmly believed in God, but he's fine having gay sex with a vampire? Wut.

I liked this season overall. Great action and good drama. My only problem is that they made Sekhmet way too powerful, no one could even scratch her. She makes Dracula look like a joke. Or is Richter a lot weaker than I think? Alucard did easily kill that one vampire lady who gave him a lot of trouble, but he caught her by surprise so it's not a good comparison.

Ritcher's power is something weird to me. What did he need to have more to access to magic? Then again he seemed quite overpowered when compared to the previous protagonist at first

He simply suffered from a mental block, which was lifted when he got his back to the wall. It's interesting the same thing happened to Juste and he never recovered, though. Richter shrugged it off as Juste being too old but could be there's something more to it.

The blushing scene between Annette and Trevor. It made it feel like if you didn't know the two characters were supposed to be in a relationship in the game, that scene would feel like it came out of nowhere.

That being said, the relationship between the Knight and Olrox also came out of nowhere. One minute they're fighting the next episode they've slept together. It's weird like how Hector and Lenore went from Master and pet at the end of Season Three to lover's spat at the beginning of Season Four.

I think Richter and Maria could handle that lady who had the wings and everything, but the vampire who apparently got an actual Goddess' blood in her was another story. They'll probably need something like the Dagger Trevor used to kill Death to make any real damage.

Richter is the second strongest Belmont in the series due to the fact that Sypha introduced magic into their bloodline. In the games, that manifested in Grand Cross and Item Crashes, but here they added in the elemental effects. He was supposed to be overpowered compared to Trevor, who had none of that, and had to enlist help to deal with Dracula.

That being said, I'd say Trevor was better with his whip compared to Richter.

Maybe the Castlevania staff is really not good at romance. I remember Trevor happening offscreen and Alucard needing an orgy as a metaphor for his depression. Alucard did have a healthier relationship next season but I don't remember much

I actually didn't know those two were supposed to end up together. That said, can't say this one is rushed since nothing has happened between them yet.
