6 Ways Breaking into Hollywood Is A Total Nightmare:
"I moved to Los Angeles from Indiana roughly five years ago. I sold pretty much everything I owned, buckled my overalls, hopped on my tractor, popped a stalk of switchgrass in my mouth, and made my way out to the Big City, where organic grass-based smoothies flowed like water and the streets were paved with actual pavement. I had one goal: to become a staffed TV writer. And I'm still waiting, because while a lot of the things people believe about the film industry are untrue, the common belief of it being difficult to break in as a writer is shockingly, heartbreakingly, pants-shittingly accurate. So if you've ever wondered why so many writers are alcoholics, read on!" See: https://www.cracked.com/article_2848...nightmare.html |

A Wave Of Sexual Abuse Stories Is Causing A Reckoning In The
Twitch Streaming World "Over the weekend, a trickle of sexual harassment stories surrounding influential figures in the streaming world grew into a tidal wave. More than 50 streamers, most of them women, shared dozens of stories that have already produced vast reverberations, including the resignation of the head of one of the biggest management firms in all of streaming and the departure of over 20 streamers in his wake. In response, some streamers are boycotting the platform altogether today and refusing to stream. High-profile streamers have been accused, often by multiple women, of patterns of inappropriate behavior up to and including sexual assault. The flood of stories this weekend has caused Twitch and its CEO to respond, saying that they will work to address the systemic issues that have so far allowed these kind of predatory behaviors to flourish in the streaming world." The Yakuza Are Running Japan’s Hollywood
"Japan’s entertainment industry is infested with organized crime and despite crackdowns on “yakuza Hollywood” nothing much seems to change. For example, last month 10 comedians from the colossal Yoshimoto Kogyo talent agency were caught up (innocently, they said) in a yakuza insurance fraud scheme involving, ahem, free massages. The scam reportedly netted over a million dollars. Who will be prosecuted remains murky. And that’s business as usual." See: https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-ya...pans-hollywood |
