Mob Kousei no Ore Demo Boukensha ni Nareba Riajuu ni Naremasuka?

モブ高生の俺でも冒険者になればリア充になれますか? (Mob Kousei no Ore Demo Boukensha ni Nareba Riajuu ni Naremasuka?)
Translation: Can Even a Mob Highschooler Like Me Be a Normie If I Become an Adventurer?
Author: Hyakkin (百均)

Summary:
Quote:
Dungeons, and along with them monsters and related disasters, started appearing in the modern world decades ago. With this brought many changes, the biggest one being adventurers and the monster cards they use to summon summons to fight and conquer dungeons with.

Kitagawa Utamaro, or just Maro, is a mob highschooler who becomes an adventurer due to being incited by a former friend of his having sudden social success among their peers simply by becoming an adventurer himself.
However, things aren't quite as easy for Maro. Just becoming an adventurer in name only isn't enough for him to gain his spotlight, giving him no recourse but to actually tackle dungeons with the peculiar and not very versatile monster cards that he barely manages to scrape up.
Spoiler for FAQ/Three Questions:

A series that I've been having fun with lately so I decided to make a thread for it.
The author, from what I gather, likes to write his volumes/parts ahead of time and them dump them daily style, like how Skeleton Knight and Mushoku Tensei did.
Thanks to this, the novel comes off as very light novel-esque (compared to web novel-esque), has exposition, a plot it follows, character development that isn't just a haircut, and lacks 'filler' chapters such as introducing the amazing wonders of baths and mayonnaise as it—so far anyway—generally sticks to its story. Has a fairly well-thought-out setting too.

That said, the author also just finished the first volume, and he wants to finish writing out the second before posting it. So no constant updates for the time being.
He did say he wanted to post some random short stories in between, though. Also said something about changing the title.

This has not been published (yet), the character artwork above is fanart by @yamada_yamada44 on Twitter of the protagonist's Zashiki-Warashi.

Both. There's "monster girls" such as the zashiki-warashi, elves, and even a "witch" girl.
And then there's actual monster girls like zombies, vampires, empusa, imps.
There's also the mix, like an oni woman which really can go either way.
Cards can also be upgraded, so a card that isn't a monster girl can become one (with limitations), and one that is can become a "monster" girl too.

Should be noted that the majority of the cards are normal monsters, it's just there are also the blatantly more popular girl cards too.
Girl cards aren't particularly stronger but they have more value due to the general demand and rarity for them.

Up to date, started this novel as a way to kill some time but it's actually pretty good, no OP MC (cards included), decent characters and world building so I hope the author keeps updating it frequently.

Yeah, this is a good one. I only hope that there'll be romance between MC and his cards xD.

Ps: Did Renka come back? i stopped at chap 45 to let some chaps pile up..

^CH 61 Anna invited him to a high ranking card exchange hosted by her father, the MC met a merchant that sold him a new zashiki and lady vampire plus another new card (unknown) at low price. All hail Anna.

This did actually get published, by the way. Not too surprising considering it read like a light novel from the start, and the author plans out/writes the volume events before uploading them.
I like the fan designs he posts more but hey, what can you do.

Even has mystery and overarching plot, and pretty damn detailed world building.
Romance aspect has been lacking (not nonexistent) but that's just all the more room for plot, so it's all good.

^Your 'OP cards' comment got me thinking. The protagonist keeps going on about his C+/B- cards (whatever you want to call them) are weaker than a genuine B rank card despite having some pretty fucking nice abilities. Like even his new Werewolf card is broken but he considers her skills weaker than a true B card.
Yet she can summon up to 3 cards of her same card capable of growth that can't be killed permanently (free revives), and has outright double the total battle strength due to one skill on her own, on top of having skills he just doesn't know what they even do. His Zashiki-Warashi can also temporarily evolve one rank higher, which is still considered weaker than a true B card but much stronger than a C.

If his cards evolve and keep these broken skills, on-top of gaining new rank-appropriate skills upon evolution that he keeps referring to, his cards have the potential to eventually be higher than A rank cards, with Renka likely being able to evolve into some fabled S rank card or something after she reaches A rank as her default. Not that I have any idea what that would be since A rank cards have very limited information in the setting (and to the reader), and seeing as B rank cards already take after gods in mythology.
Of course that's assuming they keep the skills; apparently skill inheritance is luck-based after all. That said he's had pretty good luck with it so far, and Renka kinda just outright manipulates luck. Yuuki's evolution having a broken skill set even for a werewolf is probably due to Renka, considering her good luck always results in some bad luck later, and bad luck likely results in good luck later, hence Yuuki's broken abilities. It hasn't been mentioned if cards have a skill slot limit or something but even carrying over most of their rare low level skills can probably make for quite the advantage at higher ranks, if the low rank rare skills just don't outright evolve into higher rank skills too.

^It will take at least a hundred chapter before that happens, since the A rank cards are managed by the country and the MC fears that Yuki(werewolf)'s new skill can make the gov kidnap him as a lab rat or slave to conquer labyrinths.
The best the MC can have legally are B rank cards with those skills so at most he could have a chance with a lower end A rank card or a normal one if they are compatible (weakness) Ex: Werewolf(whatever her race is when she turns B rank) using limit break against an A rank card that doesn't have detection skills or is slower than Yuki herself.

The MC also needs to make Mare? and Suzuka evolve, since cards are expensive as hell that will take a long time, also Suzuka has to get her own unique skill.

EDIT:
The part about OP cards was a bit misleading, I mean that his cards will probably end up being super strong but until that happens the MC losses more than a few times, I was trying to say this novel is not the usual cliche about a loser getting some OP thingy and then suddenly is super popular has a harem etc etc...

The (world's) governments are a bit contradictory with how they want dungeons handled.

They keep A rank cards and dungeons a secret, as well as helpful adventurer tricks such as 'linking'. Not to mention they provide no benefits to adventurers, even beginners.
Yet they legally allow minors (at least as far as 12/13 year olds) become adventurers out of some sign of desperation to deal with dungeons, as dungeons keep appearing and they've found no way to make already existing dungeons go away.
Like they want to have their problems solved by some random joe but don't want to reveal their hand in the process.

The whole mind reading tool used in interrogations also sounds extremely legally dubious, especially used on minors without consent.
Honestly the whole serial murder case has been handled questionably by authorities. Like they reprimanded the MC over trying to be a vigilante, but his profession is as an adventurer and problems inside the dungeon, such as rescue requests, are handled by adventurers. Not to mention the killers are a direction hindrance to his profession. Plus they've made no announcements regarding the killer(s) and are just letting rumors spread instead.

^They are not that contradictory when you think about it, they are focused on the high rank dungeons while monopolizing the best cards, tools and use adventurers to move the economy.
They force you to buy decent rank card to register so the adventurer can curbstomp monsters in easy dungeons and earn some pocket money, but watch you closer when you start ranking up.
The mind reading thing was an obvious jab at liar politicians when the author said "use that tool to catch violent criminals and not for small things (politicians dirty dealings)", also when they reprimanded the MC, the detective received a call and stopped, to what the MC deducted he was:
1-Used as bait
2-Suspect of being able to erase dungeons
It all fits with how modern politicians behave, the MC also told everyone why Renka was able to evolve without the card so they had no need to steal his card but if he does something bigger, well then he's probably done for.

EDIT:
Last chapter proved it, Secret Dungeons: the ones only the gov is allowed to enter, though they allow some pro-adventurers they're not allowed to take drop items or cards from there and have to pay a high toll to enter.

The MC spends 400 million yen on a random card package (new, for professionals and has three cards each, with a price of 10 million per package)

Outcome:
Rank D card (unpopular) (x30?): Orc, Jack-o'-lantern, Huang Quan Army, etc.
Rank D card (popular) (): Kelpie (x1), Unicorn (x1), Bicorn (x1), Living Armor (x1), Alraune (x1, girl), Fenja (x1, girl), Silky (x10?, girl), Empusa(x1)
Rank C card (x2): Dullahan (x1), Heket (x1, girl?)
Rank B card (x1): Athena (x1, girl)

There were also some more cards in the last 5 packages that I'm not sure (like some more silky, why the "?" symbol)
the rest are magic object and magic card

En espaņol:
El MC gasta 400 millones de yenes en paquete de carta a la azar(nueva, para profecional y posee tres carta cada una, con un precios de 10 millones por parquete)

Resultado:
