Cuba's Fidel Castro dies at 90

Cuba's Fidel Castro, who defied US for 50 years, dies at 90:

"Former President Fidel Castro, who led a rebel army to improbable victory in Cuba,
embraced Soviet-style communism and defied the power of 10 U.S. presidents during his
half century rule, has died at age 90.

With a shaking voice, President Raul Castro said on state television that his older brother
died at 10:29 p.m. Friday. He ended the announcement by shouting the revolutionary
slogan: "Toward victory, always!""

So El Presidente passed away.
That was unexpected.
Maybe i'll play Tropico as a weird tribute to him.

Well, he did it. He won the dictator game. I would say consider his choice of career, it is pretty hard to die of old age like this. If nothing else, it is time to congratulate his success and victory.

2016 has been an eventful year, so why not add this to the list? I wonder how people will look back on this year in the future.

Now that you mention it, someone should open up a new thread titled "In Memoriam 20XX" to discuss about all famous people who pass away on a specific year (hence the XX).

For 2016, it has been a very awful year.

Madman whose resentment was so deep, he wished nuclear conflagration on the entire world. It's amazing he stayed in power for so long and died of old age.

Fidel Castro died as he lived — praised by useful idiots:

"Fidel Castro died as he lived: to the sound of useful idiots making allowances for his
crimes. (That’s not my term: It was Lenin who called liberal apologists for Communism
“useful idiots.”)"

Of Course The Russian SUV Carrying Fidel Castro's
Remains Broke Down Mid-Procession:

"The ashes of Cuba’s fallen ruler Fidel Castro were carried to his final resting place this
weekend by, fittingly, a Russian UAZ 3151 military vehicle. And perhaps also appropriately,
it broke down mid-procession, forcing soldiers to push the vehicle down a street flanked
by cheering onlookers.

It is a pathetic and perhaps symbolic farewell for one of the world’s most controversial
dictators."

Castro’s Torture of American POWs in Vietnam: An Untold Story:

"The death of communist tyrant Fidel Castro has yielded much-deserved coverage
ofthe monstrous nature of his tyrannical rule.

What has gone virtually unreported, however, is the direct and instrumental role
Castro played in the torture and murder of American POWs in Vietnam during the
Vietnam War. The story of Castro’s atrocities against American soldiers in this
conflict is rarely ever told, least of all by our mainstream media."

America has legalised torture, so it is a little too late to bring this up.
