The antagonists only exist because the author needed someone who screws with Ark so he can go out and plan his revenge. None of them have a single redeeming feature, are generally the "opposite" of Ark and are a goal he will sooner or later triumph over. Dear mom and her hospital bills can carry the "plot" only so far before the readers start dropping the series. The author needs a reason for Ark to go out and level up, and thats why these one-dimensional enemies exist. Other than these people... who even plays such a game? Everyone either does it in order to screw (or get screwed by) Ark, with the exception of those who decide to help Ark screw others, or those who had been screwed so hard they have to help Ark screw others. |
