An interesting story that I found while looking for some new series to read, it's about and history otaku that died and then got the chance to reincarnate in another world along with some cheat abilities.

Raido Taro is a high school student of 17 years in his 2nd year, he got the nickname Nobutaro because he's an otaku of history, specially of the Sengoku era and more specially of Oda Nobunaga.

Trying to help a girl, he got stabbed and died on the way to the hospital. After that he appears in front of the god Loki, he tells him that he was not supposed to die and that he will reincarnate him in another world. His first choice was a world like the Sengoku era, but Loki tells him that it cannot be because he's not in charge of a world like that so he offers him a fantasy world like the western middle ages with magic.

Loki tells him that he will take the body of a young lord that died recently and he also gaves him some supercheats before sending him (having his memories, a body with great strength and magic power, mastery over all weapons and some others).

He was sent to a forest in the other world where he meets the young prince that also died, the 1st prince of Arcadia Arthur Pendragon. After he takes her hand, he receive the memories and knowledge of Arthur (The past of Arthur is very bad, his father was ill and always on bed, the vassals and his mother prefered his 3 more capable little brother over him, he had few allies and the kingdom of Arcadia was a small nation surrounded by many powerful ones).

Arthur apologies for putting him in that situation, but Taro tells him that this is what he hoped for. Arthur prepares to go the next world wishing him luck and tells him the he would like to be as the militar commander that he saw in Taro's memories, Taro thanks him and also wishes him happiness in his next life and then Arthur departs to his next life.

After entering Arthur's body, he is awaken by an old knight, with Arthur's memories he recognizes him as Arthur's retainer duke Clark Mackenzie (he compares him to Hirate Masahide), he came to take him to the marriage proposal that is going on the castle.

While Arthur was on the way there, on the royal capital Britannia, in the king's castle, the prime minister Gamaliel O'Reilly was talking to the queen Adriana Pendragon about Arthur's absence, she told him that Mackenzie was sent to bring him, the prime minister says that the envoys of the magic kingdom of Avalon were waiting for quite some time and that making them wait moore would be bad for their relationship. He continues telling her that Arthur was informed before hand and knew the importance of today's event, and in spite of being the 1st son he doesn't think that he has the qualifications to be king.

On the envoy's room in the castle, the 2 envoys were having a secret chat about how with the current state of Arcadia, it was matter of time that their country would merge with Arcadia, then they would have enough power to fight against the empire. After that they started to talk about how that beautiful princess was to good for someone like the 1st prince.

Sound interesting but please don't tell me the main heroine name is Guinevere, and that there is a dude name Lancelot cause if there are, then I can see where this is going.

I can't believe I read it as far as I did way back
Protagonist literally makes like 10 round trips to and from the first dungeon to test his skills and make money to buy the first slave

I haven't seen any Guinevere or a Lancelot in the story yet, thought there are some possible heroines:

There's Ishtar, the princess of Avalon that is going to marry him, she's and scheming person nicknamed "the black witch of Avalon". She accepts the marriage to help her father's ambition, but she warns him that if there's a change, he would fight his father and take over Avalon.

And there's also Arthur's little sister Elizabeth, a 12 year old girl with a serious brother complex.

I don't believe that the real Arthur is gonna make another appereance. I think that the story is a lot like "Nobunaga Concerto", the main character takes the place of the lord and then everyone is surprised at how much he has changed (Arthur had a fame of being timid with a weak constitution, and now he became stronger and has a Nobunaga like personality) and see how the MC reforms his country.

About the spoilers, I'm not that good making summaries, but maybe I'll try to do some more chapters later.

you're goddamn right, and the novel describes in details their daily lives.. every food they ever cooked (is this freaking gourmet novel?), how they heat the bath (the fuck?) by using magic ("water wall" then several "fireball") but because the bath is very big the MP is insufficient and MC need to warp to dungeon and using his Durandal's ability of "MP absorption" on monsters just to freaking heat the bath (this process always explained every times they heat the bath, god...), and how they beat each monster in each floor in each dungeon (nothing skipped and all dungeons are the same, only monsters arrangement is different, boooring)...... I wish they just skipped some of these details that nobody cares... funny thing is the story getting interesting when they are not dungeon conquering

lastly, the heroines are freaking dutch wives, they were bought from slave trader, brought home, and banged.... no reaction, no exception

Yeah, it's probably the worst novel out of the top 50, or perhaps even top 100.

It pretty much lacks everything you would need to make an interesting read. Lacks any form of characterization, backdrops, conflict, action, catharsis, etc.

The entire story can be summed up by "everyday dude goes to dungeon, make food, then screws all his slave girls who has as much personality as a door knob before hitting the sack".
That's literally the whole novel.

As for Tate Yuusha, many people still not consider Motoyasu as an MC (like me), those points must be still allotted for Nao-chan instead.

Arifureta can go down a bit more, but I can't accept number 3, in this case the world is not wide but crazy.....

I think this rankings are just fine.
I mean if base on the descriptions provided they basically represents the dreams of readers. What the want to fullfill.
What they want the most - the higher rating it has. If they write stories based on their desires it may explain why there are a lot of stories where "was nothing -> some event -> become center of the world" there.

What do you mean by that? Arifure is becoming worse? [Actually I dropped due to author's inability to develop characters but anyway]

Mahouka was the undisputed number 1 most popular novel in Narou until the author went professional and took down the web versions from the site. The reason why it's not ranked anymore isn't because it became less popular, it's because it simply doesn't exist anymore.

Mushoku Tensei started about a year after that incident and became the new number one.

And quite frankly, sorry to Mahouka fans but in my humble opinion, MT is a way better novel deserving of the throne.
