The fact that he put the costume back on (after Aunt Mae gave her heartfelt speech about letting go) means he has officially left his mourning period. That doesn't mean he's going to jump in bed with the first girl he sees (Felicia? MJ?), but he has clearly been shown to have moved on from the initial tragedy and is trying to find a way to continue.

Right, I just meant during those 5 months between her death and him putting the suit back on he wouldn't have met anyone.

Saw this not quite on cinema last night quite by happy coincidence, so I pretty much missed out on the majority of the dialogue since I couldn't hear it that well. Still, the fact that it had me quite engaged from beginning to end is a good thing in my books.

I think what I liked most about this movie is that there are many parts where Spiderman is shown being a superhero: helping the little boy on the street, dealing with robbers despite having a cold, and just doing good old superhero stuff. Basically, the stuff I missed from movies like the Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel, who gave more attention to being super instead of being heroes.

Finally got a chance to see this. Honestly I enjoyed it overall.

Honestly not sure what would be the major complaints coming out of this. Certainly the "too many villains" concern wasn't there since it was mostly Electro with some Goblin and a sprinkle of Rhino at the end.

Maybe the parent's angle wasn't overly necessary, but didn't take away either. Showed that for Spider-Man like anyone life gets complicated and sometimes you have a lot of things on your mind. Balancing his desire to know more about his family, the complicated situation with Gwen, and of course just being Spider-Man.

Honestly what I did like about this movie is just seeing Peter having fun being Spider-Man. His concerns are still on his mind, but it's just fun watching him go out there and help people. Agree with LoweGear that it's great seeing Spider-Man being a hero out there. He bounces all over the place but he looks out for the people, thus you can tell why people do cheer for him and support him despite the mixed media response.

Plus one thing I give these movies over the previous ones is the quips. Just pure Spider-Man having him call Electro "Sparkles."

The Gwen situation was handled pretty well. I like how it's not just that she was grabbed and was a victim. She made her choices as well. While she didn't want to die she was plenty reckless herself going out there to help Peter out. It wasn't just a promise with her father, both Peter and Gwen made their choices and things turned out the way they did.

Once again, Spider-Man doesn't disappoint, especially the way he swings around the city. It's always fun watching Spider-Man. I enjoyed the original trilogy, but these new movies are fun as well.

Yes, those scenes were great. I also like his general attitude. He really does enjoy being Spider-Man and it's great that he can be like that given all the negatives that kind of life has for him.

Just saw the movie today, and I enjoyed it a lot. Not necessarily as much as Winter Soldier, but it was really fun .

I guess it's true that the movie took on a lot at once, and I'd have preferred they take there time with things, slowly developing the characters and the Spidey universe, rather than try and throw a lot of things in the second movie. Harry/Goblin and Electro kept vying for the position of main villain, and I feel that somewhat hurt their development and the believability of Harry's friendship with Peter. I think having just Electro as the villain would've worked well, letting Harry develop for one film and then his becoming a Supervillain would've had more effect in the next film.

In terms of the villains themselves, Electro's costume was alright and I think the film conveyed his powers and strengths quite well. I'm not sure I was so sold on Max, but he wasn't too bad either. As for Gobby, the Glider and the Pumpkin Bombs looked great but I think the armor could use a little tweaking. And I feel Harry's "Goblin" form leaves a lot to be desired. Still, he's got the laugh down .

They really got Dennis Leary back just to stand there as ghost Captain Stacy at random points in the movie ?

Felicia... was weird. She doesn't strike me as someone who'd ever become Black Cat, both because of her position at OsCorp and with her personality, so I'd say she's so far gone from who she is in the comics to the point that she'd be better off as having been an original character. Same with Dr. Kafka, who only shared his comic counterparts position at Ravencroft and not their gender and personality. I guess Felicia could develop into a proper Black Cat later in the franchise, though I'm not sure if she'll ever turn up again .

Smythe was at least a jerk, so I'd say he's not that far gone from his comic-self .

I really like that they used Electro and Rhino's names but Electro just seemed to randomly come up with his Supervillain name during his rant at Ravencroft. At least in Spectacular, it was one of the nicknames Spidey gave him, though now that I think about it, I think the crowd was shouting "Electro-loser" or something during his first fight with Spider-Man....

I thought the action scenes were phenomenal, especially the final fight with Electro and the fight with the Goblin, and seeing Spidey really acting as a hero for the city was quite nice .

I felt Gwen's death was handled very well, and even having seen it coming and knowing it was likely to happen, it still really tugged at my heartstrings. I also appreciate how accurate the scene was to the death in the comics. At least Gwen was able to, at least some degree, go out on her own terms .

Garfield was in top form as Spidey, both with the quips and the costume .

The Peter/Gwen relationship was also a real highlight of the movie, in no small part due to some really cute scenes between them and some great chemistry between the actors .

Looks like the major setup for the movie will be the Sinister Six, with Doctor Octopus and Vulture looking likely as future members. I did find the relationship between Harry and Electro interesting, so I'd like that to be explored later, so I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing what's in store for the Six.
