Started about a few months ago. I am more familiar with Niesi though I stopped midway during the current tag arc. Are they done with it yet? From what I have heard, due to some events the timeline is being changed. I also recall that Mammoth Man is brought back.

I've only read bits and pieces of the Nisei manga and have seen quite a bit of its anime adaptation. Personally, I prefer the original Kinnikuman over Nisei, but then again this evaluation is just based on my limited knowledge of Nisei.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread since I've been catching up to the throne scramble chapters recently. Once again I'm reminded why my favorite prince candidate is Kinnikuman Zebra. I tend to like villains who are motivated by greed, and I always thought it was cool how he was a boxing specialist. Finally, as cheesy as it may have been, I always thought Muscle Inferno was a particularly badass finisher (I also loved the way Suguru countered it in the end, even if it was pretty DEM).
On the other hand, I never really found the rest of Zebra's team interesting, outside of Bikeman (his match against Ramenman was damned sweet). I especially found Parthenon in particular to be boring, since he was pretty much Zebra's power-up tool. Well, I definitely can't wait for the rest of the tournament finals to be translated. |

^ Yeah, besides Big Body and his team all being jobbers, Zebra's team was probably the second worst overall. The Manriki and Motorman had very limited movesets and were no match against Warsman and Ramenman. Had Terryman not been very damaged after his match against King the 100 Ton, he too would have also easily taken care of Motorman. Beyond that, as you said, Parthenon was basically a power-up tool for Zebra. Although, it's interesting how they're meant to be paired up together and that their moves complement each other.
In retrospect, Mariposa also had a really good shot at becoming the next king. Mr. VTR is such a broken character that he can take out practically anyone if he plays it smart. His camera can be used to capture and study someone's movements, and thus develop countermeasures against them; the pause button literally stops a person's movement completely; the zoom in/out camera allows him to change the size of his opponent in reality; his scene change monitor is capable of altering the location/environment in reality. This guy had the tools to ascend Mariposa to the throne. ----- Regarding the current state of the Kinnikuman franchise, it's still going incredibly strong in Japan. Yudetamago have already announced that they're going to be doing a new Nisei series very soon, and that the franchise is far from over. Also, next year is the 29th anniversary for the anime, so there is something special planned for that as well. So with all that being said, there's lots more Kinnikuman goodness to look forward to .

In case anyone wasn't aware, there's a new Kinnikuman manga being serialized weekly right now. The story takes place right after the Scramble for the Throne arc. By the looks of things, let's just say that the akuma & perfect chojin are concocting some devious plan against the justice chojin. Perhaps this will explain how the Devil Factory was founded prior to the beginning of Nisei.
Anyways, do check this series out, because things are getting crazy right now .

- The manga about the son is already finished, it was kidna short and yes, it was some years after the original series (also, the manga is much better than the animated series, even without the american editing). - The "new" manga is about tag matches as pointed out already, it looks like in the new manga both the son and the father are equally important; they don't work together nor join forces, tough.... As of yet.

For the manga about the son, they don't have a SECOND manga about this ?
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=19599 This one ? I see that was finished recently so ... XD For the anime : i speak about the long one. With like 100 episodes ... And at the end, Kinnikuman go with the first woman of the manga, not our princess (who go with Phoenix). :/ Dont know if it's the version you speak about.

The series you're talking about finished already. The new series is all about the legends again, as it takes place immediately after Suguru (Kinnikuman) became King. The nisei cast isn't in this series.

And now for a long overdue bump.....
Well, I just wrapped up the translated finale of the throne scramble arc! Definitely some epic stuff. I always felt Suguru was at his best when he's serious (but make no mistake, I love his goofy side, too ). But still, having finally read to the end of the arc I'd still have to say that Zebra's my favorite of the prince candidates. My favorite villains overall are still the Hell Missionaries, though. And yeah, I'm gonna look into that new series. Hopefully, that'll be translated in the near future, as well.... |

^I pretty much like them both equally. Neptuneman (aka Kenka/Quarrelman) is awesome just for being based off of Hulk Hogan, and I always felt that Big the Budo (aka Neptune King) was an impressively imposing villain. And most of all, Cross Bomber is just one of my top favorite techniques in the series period (which reminds me, it was pretty badass when both Suguru and Neptuneman used it during their fight against Team Phoenix).

Well, pretty much the entire point of the series is "if it's cool, then make it happen", ending or continuing the series seems to also have fallen in that logic as well
Spoiler for MUSCLE INFERNO:
Needless to say, jizz in my pants
