That depends on Araragi. Hanekawa had been like a ticking time bomb because of her emotionally dissociative nature. If our good Araragi-kun can't take the hint, who knows what kind of kaii she'll conjure up next?

I won't lie, I did(do) want Hane-ragi to happen but I understand why things are the way they are.
They may not be destined for a romantic relationship (now), but they will always be best friends, no matter what. At this point, all I can hope is for the two of them to become a globe-trotting kaii-busting duo of badassery, inheriting Oshino's work and continuing it in their own way. With Koyomi's direct subordinates being his 'Fire Sisters' and Shinobu, and Hanekawa's own 'siblings', plus Senjougahara's general affinity with sharp things, the inclusion of them onto the team would be unstoppable. I mean, the girl created her own kaii, how awesome is that...#_# Ghost Busters indeed. Spoiler for random-ness:

for me that scene was needed to make hanekawa experience pain/loss. also, it was only arararagi who could make her experience that, so it worked out fine in the end? who knows, maybe she'll try to seduce him from hitagi lol.

Well - I must admit that I cried a little at Hanekawa finally being able to get her confession out. I was very happy for her and yet sad at the same time. *sigh*
What a great end to the arc. Very well done!

I definitely cried at the end, but it felt so good I couldn't be depressed(dat head stroking scene).
Some might be disappointed that she didn't defeat the Tiger herself, but her whole reason for going was to accept it, not destroy it, and in a sense, become whole. The fact she confessed even after that glorious head pat, when she knows he read the notebook, and knowing he is dating Hitagi, was impressive. You might cognitively know the person's response, but no one wants to hear a rejection from the mouth of the person they love. Yet I wanted her to say it, to have that closure. Hope that won't be the last we see of her. And after reading the epilogue in the novel, I was sad they cut some of it out, but this deserves a solid 10 anyway. |
