Beastly (2011)

Here's the trailers for this movie that looks very promising

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkNjG...layer_embedded

Imbd

Genre:
Fantasy/Romance

Directed by:
Daniel Barnz

Starring:
Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen

Release date:
Fri 18, Mar 2011

Summary:
A modern-day take on the "Beauty and the Beast" tale where a New York teen is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love.
Spoiler for poster:

From wikipedia:
Quote:
It was expected to be distributed to theaters by CBS Films and Alliance Films on July 30, 2010.[5] But eventually, they moved it to March 18, 2011, in order to avoid Hudgens's film from clashing with the release of boyfriend Zac Efron's film Charlie St. Cloud.
Enjoy!!!

Indeed, "Beauty and The Beast" was what first came to mind when I saw this. I might turn out to be good. Ideal for a date iibh. Or maybe not?

Pathetic. Seriously, there's a kink for everything, and they didn't make him look nearly ugly enough. Beauty and the Beast worked, because the Beast was literally non-human. That's the least they could have done with this one. As it is, the girl is right; there is much worse, and there are a lot of people out there with worse tattoos and body art, that someone would find it attractive. They should have at least added boils, made him fatter, etc.

Also, I don't buy "Beauty" falling for the guy because she knew how he was. The original Beauty and the Beast was different because beauty didn't originally know him, so there was at least a chance for her to get to know him.

Hmmm... Is this based off the book "Beastly" the one I read in my Reading Improvement class by Alex Flinn? If so then, I can already tell what will happen in the movie. Or they will take some alternative routes during the scenes, or maybe the entire movie even. But even so it looks like just a recreation of "Beauty and the Beast" : /

Edit: After looking at the Imbd link, I just noticed it is based off the novel... Or atleast it looks like it.

This movie looks stupid, that guys looks awesome, why would he want to go back to looking like just another rich spoiled douche bag?

Clearly the creators of this movie have a very biased sense for beauty. Since when are tattoos beastly? And since when is looking Lara Stone like considered ugly?

He's not very beastly. The only reason I'd watch this film would be for Neil Patrick Harris.

I would only consider seeing this movie if the guy at least looked like Dennis Avner AKA the Cat-Man.

I've read the book too, and when I see the trailer, I thought that it's gotta be the same as the novel. But I really curious just how similar this is to the novel.
Maybe I should consider to watch this, for the sake of curiousity

If you actually do, and it felt like a waste of money, I feel like giving you money back if it was completely horrible... Judging from the guy's look, I second the idea about Tattoos are not really beastly...

Beast from Beauty and The beast turned into some.... beast
"Beast" from Beastly only had tatoos on = creepy
At least I get the sense of "beast" from him, although just a little

Well it gives off a creepy look indeed, but not exactly something... Beasty like... Also the feeling could just be his expressions

Yeah, actually being a 'beast' was part of the message in Beauty and the Beast...
