Well the two animes you mentioned are Shonen. If that is what you like, check out the other two animes of the trifectora, Bleach and One Piece.
There is also things like Shakugan no Shana, Fate/Stay Night, that revolve around magical powers. If you're not opposed to mech I suggest Code Geass or Fullmetal Panic. For something a little different, I suggest watching Death Note. That is all .

Well, To Aru Majutsu no Index was recommended so I guess you could go for the spinoff as well, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. I'll second One Piece and D.Gray-Man. Especially One Piece.. it has alot of humor and adventuring. Might like Gintama too.. though it doesn't have adventuring but lots of action and humor packed episodes. .. By the way, seeing as he mentioned Avatar, doesn't that mean he watches with eng dubs ? Should have kept that in mind when recommending.. I wonder if any of the recommended titles in this thread are available with english dub.

Just ... wow. Some bright guy here got pissed off because I said Avatar isn't an anime, and gave me negative reputation.
I will say it again : Avatar is NOT an anime. And YES, I meant the Last Airbender. No matter how much you want it to be an anime, it's not. It's american animation, and we all know what anime stands for... japanese animation.
