The R1's should look good next to my R2 collection of F/SN. ^^

Awesome. Knowing my luck, too, there'll be a limited edition volume one with box that also comes with a copy of the OST... what could I possibly do with two copies of the OST?

Apart from look at them, of course. ^_^

If there is going to be a box to house all the DVD's, then i'm very much looking forward to seeing what its going to look like, the same can be said for the front cover art for each volume.

I read that Bang Zoom! Entertainment is working on Fate Stay Night. So are they bringing in the same cast that did Tsukihime?

I don't know about that, but if I was a betting man, 10-1 says that Wendee Lee will be Saber.

Bah! It'll be Michelle Ruff as most Ayako Kawasumi's roles goes to her!

I confirmed that Bang Zoom! Entertainment is working on Fate Stay Night. Who do you think will be Shirou Emiya, Rin Tohsaka, Saber, and Archer? I think Stephanie Sheh will be perfect as Sakura Matou because her Hinata Hyuuga voice in Naruto is similar to Sakura Matou's Jap. voice.

What? They're not gonna try to rip ppl off by releasing 3 eps per volume?

Geneon have normally been fairly decent with their episode-per-disk count, at least in my experience. Although I'd probably be even happier with a five disk set, six is quite manageable, especially if there's a nice artbox with the (preferably) first volume. Including the OST could be a nifty extra too... though a bit overkill, considering I've already got it. ^_^

What makes me interested here is what the episode count will be for the disks. I'm inclined to think 5,5,4,4,3,3. Why so? The first two disks act as more of a 'hook' in this fashion, then there's the nice cliffhanger of episode 14, the following cliffhanger of the 'what is going to happen to Rin & Sakura Caster is evil!' episode 18, then a set of trios involving the 'interlude' and then the final sequence.

Well. Either that or six disks of 4 episodes. But I'd bet against that. The pattern is wrong.

And I reeeeally hope you're wrong. 5 episodes would be too much of a squash and probably wouldn't look as good. Well, the 3 episode ones would, but when you consider 2 episodes with one audio track, no subtitles or anything, on an R2 is about 3.6GB... They could probably squeeze 4 with minimal re-encoding loss, but 5?

You'll probably be right though. Oh well.

The Japanese release set has changed now to two episodes per disc, when it was three per disc - so change could easily happen to the R1 release.

Well, there's no way to know until they solicit the first disc, but I think the most likely scenario by far is 4 episodes/disc on every disc, which is as balanced as the Japanese 3/disc. While unusual release patterns have happened before (usually to fit a certain episode count to a certain number of discs), it's definitely the exception, rather than the rule.

Since when? All 5 discs currently released have been 3 episodes each, and there are only three left...

Yeah, i know it's an error.. i knew that when posting it in the first place.

Its CDJapan, a new error gets posted everyday. I was just pointing out that changing if episode numbers on a volume could happen.

Geneon have announced the release date for the first volume of Fate/stay night.

19th December 2006, Volume 1, 100 minutes, retail price of $30 so expect an on-line price of under $19.

There's also a Limited Edition release on the same day. Don't know if this contains anything more than the art box.

Yay, just the right number, plus the release date means I can just throw it on my christmas list. Glad I didn't spend all that money importing the R2s
