No tension. None whatsoever. Geez...and I thought that the anime could sate me since the LNs pretty much turned me away early on but no. Even in other series where you know the MC and his/her team would win something there was always some form of tension. But no.
The entire arc seems to always have the following in each episode: 1. At least 1 boring 'match' where First High School shows off 2. The obligatory 'someone blushing over Tatsuya' moment 3. The obligatory 'Tatsuya is such an amazing engineer/so badass' moment 4. The moment that's supposed to build tension but really doesn't 5. Some sort of exposition that flies over the audience's head For Bonus Points: A Miyuki is the most beautiful thing ever moment Seriously...please start putting in some damn tension here...

Honoka is really really cute in this episode.
Her experession are diverse. She is the type of character who is more compatible with anime than LN. Oh yeah, that "fashion show" is hilarious. And Miyuki's black sailor uniform? ME GUSTA!!!! Still don't understand why people can't appreciated the pub stomping? Why can't they feel the joy when the less-talented ones cry in frustration?

What is really gold is that lot of female students, surrounding Tatsuya, complimenting Tatsuya, wanting him to be their engineer who take cares of their satisfaction.
That one female student blantantly wanting Tatsuya to be a engineer for her to taking care of her CAD is just. Masaki deducing it was an engineer that made First High succeed, he might expose Tatsuya's skills as the engineer Third High feared of First High inevitable first place winning spot. |

That kid takes it too much personal. He should get a life and get laid like Tatsuya.

Seemed straightforward to me. When objects cool, they contract, and when they heat up, they expand. For example, if you heat up a piece of glass, it becomes slightly bigger than it was. Then, if you try to cool it very quickly, the outside cools first, causing it to contract, while the inside is still hot and expanded. The tension between these can cause something to crack. The thicker it is, the longer it takes the center to change temperatures, so it's more likely to crack. And with something as thick as a pillar, its easy to see how/why it broke so quickly.
