She was attached to Erza, much like Minerva; basically, Kyouka got her kicks out of torturing Erza, but when she escaped, she became an unexpected opponent, offering Kyouka a newfound rush of battle. From that point on, both Kyouka and Minerva just wanted to fight it out with Erza, for the sake of humiliating her afterwards...at least, that's my take on it.
